Ancient Nutrition unveils holistic wellness line infused with full-spectrum CBD
11 Sep 2019 --- US supplements manufacturer Ancient Nutrition has announced the launch of a product line designed to support holistic wellness routines, comprising United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) certified organic cannabidiol (CBD) hemp oils, powders and caplets. The new line of organic CBD products is the result of over four years of research and development. Ancient Nutrition is among the first to offer CBD that is USDA Certified Organic, the brand notes. This new line also introduces the first-ever CBD hemp products made with fermented hemp as well as half a dozen botanicals, some of which are clinically-studied.
Ancient Nutrition’s CBD line comes in at the heels of new product launches in the burgeoning hemp and cannabis space, which have proliferated over the last year, as the cannabis extract makes its way into mainstream consumer packaged goods. NutritionInsights reached out to the company, which was unable to respond to questions on how its hemp products have managed to attain USDA certification, while Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulation of the CBD market remains opaque.
“Ancient Nutrition is a company focused on bringing ancient elements into the modern world in a convenient form, and since hemp has been around for thousands of years, used by many of our ancestors in a variety of ways, it's only natural for us to help bring Organic CBD (derived from agricultural hemp) to everyday people in modern, functional and convenient formats,” says Dr. Josh Axe, Co-Founder of Ancient Nutrition and Founder of DrAxe.com.
“What makes our organic CBD hemp products unique in the marketplace and ideal for consumers is our intentional and innovative combination of herbs and ingredients derived from Ayurvedic practices, such as holy basil, turmeric, black pepper and bacopa,” he adds.
Ancient Nutrition’s Organic CBD Hemp line includes:
- Organic CBD Hemp Oil: (10-40 mg Cannabidiol) available in pure and cinnamon.
- Organic CBD Hemp Powder Golden Chai: (10-20 mg Cannabidiol) Select botanical ingredients help alleviate the effects of stress and tension while promoting restful sleep and emotional wellbeing. Features organic MCTs, clinically studied organic ashwagandha root and leaf plus turmeric, ginger and cinnamon.
- Multi Collagen Ultra Vanilla Chai with CBD Hemp: Combines collagen peptides, MCTs and CBD from US-Grown Hemp in a formula that leverages the collagen peptides to support healthy skin, gut and joints.
- Organic CBD Hemp Caplets: (10-20mg cannabidiol) Variations include Relief + Comfort, Sound Sleep, Stress Less and Brain Boost formulations.
- Organic KetoCBD MCT Oil: Combines Organic MCT Oil and Organic Full-Spectrum CBD Hemp.
Ancient Nutrition’s organic CBD hemp line is sourced from certified organic hemp plants grown in the US on family farms in Tennessee and Colorado. Each product combines full-spectrum organic hemp plants and extract with a powerful combination of organic botanical herbs, oils and extracts.
The brand’s full-spectrum CBD contains not only CBD but may also contain cannabinol (CBN), cannabichromene (CBC), cannabigerol (CBG) and terpenes.
A commonly held misnomer has been that CBD in its isolated form delivers more potent results than full-spectrum CBD. However, this assumption was corrected by researchers at the Lautenberg Center for General Tumor Immunology in Jerusalem, who compared the effects of these two forms through a mouse model study, which revealed that full-spectrum CBD – containing a broader range of cannabinoids found in marijuana compared to CBD isolate – provides a higher degree of relief.
The study also revealed that full-spectrum CBD continues to provide relief when its dosage is raised, while the effects of CBD isolate are not accentuated in correlation with a similar increase.
Ancient Nutrition products are marketed as “made from real food nutrients.” In addition to being certified organic, products within the line are non-GMO, gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, grain-free and nut-free, wherever possible, notes the brand.
Ancient Nutrition will showcase the collection at Natural Products Expo East, in Baltimore, Maryland, US, on September 12 to 14, 2019.
Interest in CBD products gains traction
CBD is backed by scientific proponents as being beneficial in relieving anxiety, migraines, epilepsy, aggression, cancer – and even as an enhancer of other medications. As more consumers gain awareness of the cannabis and hemp exract’s properties, industry is seeing more delivery formats for the compound entering the market. The Hemp Business Journal estimates that the hemp CBD market totaled US$190 million in 2018 – an astounding rate of growth for a category that did not officially exist five years ago.
Last month, Dixie Botanicals, a subsidiary of Medical Marijuana, Inc. – the first-ever publicly traded cannabis company in the US and specialist in marijuana-derived nutraceutical products – has released new watermelon-flavored cannabidiol (CBD) gummies in response to a growing market demand for edible CBD products. Each CBD gummy is said to offer 10 mg of the brand’s hemp-derived CBD isolate. The product is marketed as tetrahydrocannabinol (THC)-free, making it non-psychoactive.
