Our journalists attended the Healthplex Expo / Natural & Nutraceutical Products China (HNC) and Health Ingredients and Food Ingredients (Hi & Fi) Asia-China event last week. The dynamic trade show, co-located with the Starch Expo, brought together nutraceutical brands with food and health ingredient suppliers. Key topics at the event were functional foods inspired by traditional Chinese medicine, products promoting a youthful glow through cellular health (PQQ) and lowering melanin in the skin (whitening tomato ingredients). There was also an “ocean” of trusted marine ingredients, such as fish collagen and DHA from algae. Supplement brands were flanked by videographers and digital influencers, who divulged great details about the products and the ingredients they contained to online fans and shoppers.
