Fruit D’Or and Taiyo Announce New Partnership
21 Oct 2016 --- Fruit d’Or is set to formally unveil its new relationship with Taiyo, revealing a new branded ingredient called SunCran. The new product will combine Fruit d’Or’s Organic Cranberry Juice Powder with Taiyo’s Sunfiber soluble guar fiber.
SunCran, an unsweetened bulk powder, will be the first-ever cranberry juice powder with 70 percent juice concentrate.
Sunfiber, a regulating, prebiotic dietary fiber that claims to provide satiety and aids in the transit of food through the intestines, is also a food with an approved Health Canada claim for 20 percent reduction in post-prandial glucose levels.
Speaking with NutritionInsight back in July, Scott Smith, VP of Taiyo said, “Sunfiber is a ‘true regulating’ fiber in that it not only helps with occasional constipation but uniquely helps with diarrhea as well, returning stool content to a normal healthy state.”
“It’s well tolerated and does not lead to the typical bloating, cramping and gas production that other fibers are known for with daily consumption.”
Stephen Lukawski, Director of Sales and Business Development for Fruit d’Or commented on companies’ collaboration, saying, “SunCran is ideal for digestive health products because it leverages the prebiotic benefits of Sunfiber with the latest, best-in-class cranberry technology.”
He continued, adding, “SunCran is a turnkey solution for those looking for prebiotic fiber benefits combined with cranberry juice benefits, without the sugar.”
“Because the ingredients are GRAS, SunCran can be used in medical foods that support nutrition. It can also be used in functional ready-to-drink beverages as well as bars, stick packs and scoopable powders.”
Commenting on the new partnership on behalf of Taiyo, Scott Smith stated, “We selected Fruit d’Or as an ingredient partner not just for their leadership in delivering premium quality cranberry ingredients but also because their core values parallel ours in that we are in business to produce and supply science-based, quality ingredients with the highest concern for consumer health and safety.”
Lukawski finalized, “Fruit d’Or’s new partnership with Taiyo is a good example of partnering with one of the best companies in the industry that is also focused on science, which is Fruit d’Or’s model of growing the cranberry industry behind UTIs.”
The partnership will be formally announced at Fruit d’Or’s annual “Cranberry Harvest Symposium”, an event open to customers and stakeholders.
