OmniActive acquires Enovate to boost health ingredients’ portfolio
OmniActive Health Technologies (OmniActive) announced the acquisition of India-based Enovate Biolife (Enovate) to strengthen its position in innovative, clinically proven health ingredients for consumer products.
Enovate was established in 2009 to focus on developing proprietary, clinically studied botanical ingredients for various health benefits, including sports and active nutrition, joint and lower back support, men’s health and heart health. The company is also developing products for muscle and digestive health.
“Enovate’s approach to ingredients perfectly aligns with OmniActive’s mission of delivering proven products that make a meaningful difference in consumers’ lives,” comments Sanjay Mariwala, founder and managing director of OmniActive.
“Enovate has done a remarkable job bringing multiple standout ingredients to the market, including Muvz, RedNite and the award-winning Oxyjun. We look forward to bringing these newly acquired ingredients to more brands and formulation partners looking to serve health-conscious consumers worldwide.”
Financial details of the deal have not been disclosed.
US licensing agreement
The companies first collaborated in 2019, when OmniActive signed a US licensing agreement with Enovate for its clinically studied mental energy ingredient enXtra. This plant-derived nootropic, made from Alpinia galanga, delivers the benefits of caffeine without containing it. After the collaboration’s success, the partners expanded the agreement globally.

“We are proud of the strides we have made to help our loyal customers deliver products formulated with clinically backed ingredients to address consumer health and performance needs,” says Jayesh Chaudhary, founder and CEO of Enovate.
“OmniActive’s comprehensive capabilities spanning clinical research, R&D, regulatory, marketing and operations, along with global reach, position us well to elevate these ingredients even further.”
Clinically studied ingredients
Both companies specialize in natural and botanical health ingredients. Industry experts expect that interest in natural ingredients will grow as consumers value their health and sustainability benefits. However, they note that scientific substantiation of health benefits is crucial.
Nutrition Insight recently met with Enovate to discuss its mental health offering. The company’s assistant manager of international business, Russtam Irani, underscored there is substantiated research for several botanical ingredients in the category.
For example, research on the company’s Rednite beetroot ingredient indicates that acute administration can effectively support cognitive function, specifically memory capacity and frontal skills.
Meanwhile, OmniActive’s curcumin product, Curcuwin Ultra+, has been shown to improve joint mobility, flexibility and knee muscle strength in people with mild knee osteoarthritis. Research also indicates that the company’s low-dose valerian extract, Sleeproot, significantly improves sleep quality, reduces sleep latency and helps people fall asleep more quickly.
