Ethical Naturals unveils MachaWave matcha and L-theanine blend for energy and cognition

Ethical Naturals has unveiled its MachaWave solution, which blends high-grade organic matcha with AlphaWave, the company’s form of L-theanine produced through a proprietary fermentation and purification process backed by three clinical studies. 

MachaWave is formulated for beverage, tea, and sports nutrition applications and can be incorporated into hot and cold formats. Ethical Naturals says the solution promotes balanced energy, stress management, focus, and cognitive performance.

According to the supplier, pairing matcha with L-theanine supports structure or function claims related to mental clarity, sustained attention, calm focus, reduced nervous tension, and balanced energy delivery.

Matcha differs from regular green tea as its leaves are shade-grown prior to harvest. This process causes the plant to develop amino acids such as L-theanine while contributing to its characteristic green color and concentrated nutrient profile.

Published research cited by Ethical Naturals suggests that matcha may support cognitive function, including aspects of memory and attention, while also helping reduce stress and anxiety through its naturally occurring combination of caffeine and L-theanine.
