21 Oct 2025 | Lallemand Bio-Ingredients

At Vitafoods Asia 2025 in Bangkok, Thailand, we connected with Lallemand Bio-Ingredients’ Annemarie Halter, VP Health Ingredients, and Michael Omvik-Grotkjaer, commercial director for Health Ingredients. Watch to learn about the latest science behind ingredients including Veri-te resveratrol for menopause, M-Gard yeast beta-glucan for immune support, and Gastro-AD fermented soy for treating gastric upset and complications from excess stomach acid.

Hello everybody.

This is William Bradford Nichols, the editor for Nutrition Insight, and I am here live at Vita Foods Asia in Bangkok, Thailand, and I'm speaking with Anne-Marie Halter, the vice president of health ingredients at Laliman Bio Ingredients.

Hello, Anne Marie, how are you?

Hello, I'm good, thanks.

And we also have with us today Michael Olmvik Grotia, the commercial director for health ingredients at Laliman Bioredients.

Hello, Michael, how are you today?

I'm doing good, thank you.

I've got a couple of questions for you guys, and if it's OK, I'd love to just jump right in.

All right.

Can you tell us a little bit about Lolly and bio ingredients' main, focuses for this year at the trade show?

So we have a, a few specialty ingredients, that came with new scientific data that we're promoting into different categories in, women's health, healthy aging, or immune health, and gut health.

Yeah, typically what we see in the in the supplement market is really the, the request for more science to, to back up the the ingredients you're offering to the market and that's really our focus to communicate more on that.

Alright, speaking of the science, I understand you guys have some new results out for a study on your MGARDS, immune health ingredient.

Can you tell us about that?

Yeah, the study was done, in a population that was getting a flu vaccine, and in one arm they, got supplemented with our MGA betglucan, and we saw a significant, outcome that the group with MGard actually had a much higher antibody titer and so the flu vaccine worked much better in this population.

Anything else?

I think that hits it.

And as far as gastro AD, I understand that that's also a pretty big focus for you guys right now, and you just received a new health claim in South Korea.

Can you tell us about that and what the health claim is for and its health benefits?

Yes, sure, sure.

So gastro ID is our fermented soy, mainly for gastric discomfort or heartburn.

It's a 100% natural product with absolutely no side effects, which really is the key for this kind of application, as most of the alternatives do have some challenging side effects to it, but there's nothing there when we speak about our, our gas.

And in addition to that, it's not just, ah, an acute effect, it also helps, ah, long term.

Versus gastric discomfort situations, and are there any other ingredients you're focusing on this year?

We have the verite, our fermentation-based resveratrol, which is something Laloman acquired recently from a Swiss company Evolva.

It's very documented and mainly within healthy aging, longevity, and women's health.

It's positioned.

Before we go, is there anything else you'd like to tell our viewers before we sign off?

Feel free to drop by our booth and hear more about what we have to offer.

Sure, I would like to meet you.

All right, thank you guys so much for sharing your insights, and I hope you have a great rest of the show.

Thank you very much.
