Bactolife CEO Sebastian Søderberg and co-founder and chief scientific officer Dr. Sandra Wingaard Thrane discuss Helm binding proteins, a novel gut health approach. Unlike probiotics, which introduce beneficial bacteria, or prebiotics, which feed them, Helm proteins bind and block harmful compounds. The company is launching the proteins through healthcare practitioners, with applications beyond supplements in medical foods, functional foods, and beverages. Søderberg says several product launches are coming and four clinical trials are underway.
