At Danone’s recently launched OneBiome Lab in Paris, France, we met with Katrien van Laere, chief medical and scientific officer, and Albe Wendt, VP of Advanced Technology, to discuss the company’s microbiome research in early life and clinical nutrition. Van Laere expects that moving to prevention through nutrition and the microbiome will be one of the key breakthroughs in gut health in the coming years. She also emphasized opportunities in personalized advice and nutrition to manage health, immunity, and metabolism better. Wendt detailed how AI and digital tools can support product development, such as in Danone’s biotics research, and accelerate their inclusion in consumer products.
