Modern consumers are reaching for healthy snacks that contain functional ingredients and health benefits. We catch up with Edo Mujkic, the CEO and co-founder of Bite Me Nutrition who tells Nutrition Insight that the company has created a gluten-free, lactose-free, pea protein cookie that is dessert-like but without any processed sugar. The innovation, which was showcased at Biofach in Germany, caters to the active lifestyle consumer. The international start-up plans to innovate beverages, fermented products and supplements with functional ingredients next.
