Health Canada has approved OraCMU, a clinically researched oral probiotic developed by South Korean biotech company Oraticx. The regulatory green light allows the ingredient’s sale and distribution in the Canadian natural health products market by the nutraceutical ingredients supplier Stratum Nutrition.
Health Canada’s Product License (NPN 80149686) authorizes OraCMU powder for use as a natural health product backed by claims to “support and maintain oral health, promote a healthy oral microbiota, and reduce halitosis (oral malodor) by supporting a healthy oral microbiota.”

In other oral health news, Nutrition Insight met with Cassondra Saande, scientific advisor for the Americas at Novonesis, who introduced Biofresh, the company’s enzymatic breath freshener designed to go beyond masking odors.
