Native Pet targets top weight and oral health issues in dogs with biotic-powered offerings
Native Pet is unveiling a line of supplement products for dogs to boost their microbiomes and meet the demands of Gen Z and Millennial pet adopters. The Gutwell Trim Down and Gutwell Clean Breath, backed by science, target weight management and oral health, as they are the most common and fastest-growing health concerns among dogs.
“America’s growing interest in gut microbiome health, combined with cutting-edge scientific research and my personal journey with supplements, tells me we’re on the right track,” says Native Pet CEO Dan Schaefer.
“Gutwell is long overdue. And we are advancing pet health with revolutionary products, a first-of-its-kind format, and a commitment to clean ingredients and science-backed dosing.”
The company notes that consumers are prioritizing gut health and dental solutions for their pets while also looking for ingredient transparency and holistic wellness.
Clean label and biotic powered-formulations
The products are made from mixed tocopherols, which act as a natural preservative, and are free from artificial additives, fillers, and other unnamed ingredients, says Native Pet.
The Gutwell Trim Down claims to support metabolic health and regulate GLP-1 and leptin, the hunger hormones, with L-Carnitine and a triple-biotic blend. Native Pet says the product supports fat burning, energy use, and is good for lean muscle mass.

The Gutwell Clean Breath claims to support oral microbiomes and healthy gums and teeth. The triple biotic blend consists of probiotics, which balance inflammatory responses and postbiotics to break down biofilms causing plaque and reduce sulfur compounds.
Brown algae is added to further reduce plaque and tartar buildup, while zinc is used to reduce compounds that cause bad breath. It is recommended to be used with regular brushing.
Gutwell’s targeted triple-biotic blend is also added to its other products: Power Poop for digestive health, Itchy Skin for a soothing effect from the inside out, and Stress Support via the gut-brain axis.
Cold-pressed formats
The products come as cold-pressed pellets to ensure optimal efficacy and maintenance of the active ingredients.
“Formulation as well as format inform function,” comments Dr. Dan Su. “Probiotics, prebiotics, and postbiotics are incredibly sensitive to heat, moisture, and oxygen. That’s why we chose a cold-pressed pellet format. It protects these delicate ingredients and preserves their potency.”
“Native Pet’s manufacturing approach ensures each Gutwell supplement delivers real, targeted support to the microbiome.”
Schaefer adds: “Pet wellness shouldn’t feel like guesswork. Gutwell delivers functional health benefits that are not only effective but rooted in pioneering veterinary science.”
