Unigen and Lehvoss Nutrition promote ArthroLexin in EU for joint health and cartilage repair
Natural active ingredients specialist Unigen has kicked off the promotional launch of the plant-based joint health ingredient ArthroLexin on the EU market in collaboration with its distribution partner Lehvoss. The product combines two of the company’s botanical solutions marketed toward joint care, Univestin and AmLexin.
Univestin contains proprietary bioflavonoids derived from the roots of Chinese skullcap (Scutellaria baicalensis) and the heartwood of Acacia catechu. It is “clinically proven to promote joint flexibility within three days, support joint comfort within five days, and support range of motion and physical function within seven days.”
AmLexin is derived from the root bark of white mulberry (Morus alba) and the heartwood of A. catechu. According to clinical studies, it helps protect joints from natural wear and tear and shows the statistically significant reduction of uCTX-II, a type II collagen biomarker of joint cartilage breakdown.
ArthroLexin is commercially sold in the US and other markets with the exception of Europe, where Lehvoss Nutrition sells it under the co-branding Univestin + AmLexin.
“The powerful, synergistic combination of Univestin with AmLexin not only contributes to symptom relief but also provides joint cartilage structural protection,” says Dr. Qi Jia, chief scientific officer at Unigen.
“We strongly believe the development of nutraceutical compositions, like Univestin + AmLexin, should be scientific-evidence based and clinically proven. We hope this joint care research demonstrates the pathways and how the chain of scientific evidence is collected when our peers consider developing unique formulas for the nutraceutical industry.”
Clinical benefits
Clinical research underscores the synergistic benefits of combining Univestin and AmLexin in a single formulation for joint and cartilage support, healthy aging, and overall joint health.
Specifically, ArthroLexin helps reduce joint discomfort, enhance flexibility, and preserve the articular cartilage matrix’s composition.
“Univestin is the first generation of joint care ingredients patented by Unigen, targeting fast and long-lasting symptom relief. AmLexin is a symptom-modifying natural active that protects cartilage from wear and tear and slows down the catabolic process,” highlights Jia.
Teresita Rudà, head of marketing and brand positioning at Lehvoss Nutrition, adds: “The results of this combination study and individual studies on both ingredients confirm that Univestin and AmLexin are certainly an alternative, innovative, plant-based solution for the European market, not only for osteoarthritis management, but also for active lifestyle support.”
In recent launches, Kenvue, the maker of Tylenol, unveiled a new line of drug-free supplements for joint health and mobility. The Proactive Support line is based on TamaFlex, a proprietary blend of turmeric and tamarind that clinical studies show can improve joint comfort, flexibility, and function in five days by supporting the body’s healthy inflammatory response.
