Cannaray CBD and Waitrose launch CBD products for UK retail and online sectors
02 Dec 2021 --- Wellness brand Cannaray CBD has partnered with British supermarket chain Waitrose, to offer a CBD supplement range across 250 Waitrose & Partners stores across the UK. This is the first time Waitrose has had an exclusive CBD supplement partner and CBD food supplements featured in its stores.
“CBD usage is rapidly growing across the UK, and we are helping millions of Waitrose shoppers to try high-quality CBD as part of their regular wellness routine,” says Tim Clarke, managing director of Cannaray CBD.
This move comes at a time when the total UK CBD market value is estimated to be £690 million (US$ 919 million), a figure higher than the total UK market for vitamin B and C combined, the brand states.
Previously, the Association for the Cannabinoid Industry and the Centre for Medicinal Cannabis also estimated that £690 million (US$919 million) would be generated in the CBD industry annually.
According to Cannaray CBD, approximately 9 million people have tried CBD, and a further 23 million people are open to trying it.
Cannaray CBD and its offerings
Seven different Cannaray CBD products are now available to purchase, including the Cannaray CBD Day & Night Oil Drops, CBD Capsules and citrus-flavored CBD Gummies.
Cannaray CBD was founded to “make CBD easy and accessible for millions of people,” with a range of CBD products formulated to be effective and enjoyable to use. Additionally, the products are all triple lab tested for purity.
The company also created a CBD range that is accessible, affordable, and of the utmost quality, making them an ideal CBD partner of choice.
Additionally, Cannaray CBD is fronted by brand ambassador and CBD superfan Claudia Winkleman, who began using Cannaray products at the end of 2020 to manage work and life pressures.
It was the first CBD brand to invest in major brand advertising in the UK, with a national television campaign featuring Winkleman encouraging people to “Join the CBD Revolution.”
Moves within the CBD space
CBD industry players have had a prolific year due to increased consumer demand as well as regulatory changes.
In August, the US hemp industry called for improved regulation concerning hemp-derived products that contained CBD. This move resulted from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) rejecting Charlotte’s Web and Irwin Naturals’ dietary ingredient notifications for full-spectrum hemp extract that contained CBD.
Also, in regulations, the Natural Products Association accepted a US senate draft legislation that stated the FDA is to set an “upper limit for a safe daily consumption level of CBD products.”
Last week, nutrition industry players highlighted the increased scientific research on cannabinoids for cancer treatment and pain relief.
In NPD moves, Tikun Olam-Cannbit partnered with Ambrosia-SupHerb to develop nutritional supplements based on cannabis and mushrooms.
