Boosting cognition: Memophenol found to increase students’ mental performance
02 Sep 2019 --- A clinically-proven patented solution to prevent the age-related cognitive decline on seniors, Memophenol, has been found to act as a booster of cognitive performance. The active formulation’s effectiveness in acute dosage was evaluated on students by France-based Activ’Inside in a new clinical study. The ingredient was found to boost mental performance, thereby offering a natural option for students seeking nootropics.
The randomized, double-blind placebo-controlled crossover clinical study was conducted on 30 French graduated students, from 18 to 25 years old. The crossover approach makes the comparison more powerful as students are their own control. Each student took both placebo and 600mg of Memophenol in an acute dosage, 90 minutes before a one-hour intense mental effort. Cognitive performance, including working memory, attention and alertness, was assessed by both objective and self-assessment validated tests in exam conditions.
In 90 minutes, Memophenol acute supplementation was found to induce booster effects. The results show that Memophenol significantly maintains higher cognitive performance by 36 percent when students were supplemented with Memophenol, compared to the placebo.
This clinical study not only proved Memophenol’s effectiveness, but students under Memophenol supplementation felt significantly more performant by 39 percent, according to self-assessment results. These clinical results are subject to a new proprietary patent highlighting Memophenol’s quick effectiveness in acute dosage, the company notes.
Rise of brain boosters
Nowadays, 20 percent of students use “smart nootropic drugs” as cognitive boosters to stay competitive and focused, notes Activ’Inside.
Innova Market Insights pegged “I Feel Good” as its number eight trend for 2019, denoting a consumer who seeks out ingredients and products that enhance their state of well-being - not only physically, but mentally. Nootropics, which are defined as substances that enhance cognition and memory and facilitate learning are a key trending area to look out for within the “feel good” space.
However, these nootropics, such as Modafinil or Methylphenidate used in pharmaceutical drugs, may have potential long-term side effects. To offer quick benefits comparable to those of nootropic drugs without their side effects, Activ’Inside proposes its 100 percent natural & patented formula Memophenol to boost students’ cognitive performance in acute dosage.
A number of companies are engaging with rising consumer interest in natural nootropics. In June, Swiss Mibelle Biochemistry has released a new cognition-enhancing ingredient derived from Timut Pepper and Medium-chain triglycerides (MCT) oil, marketed as “natural, unique and innovative.”
In July, Food and nutritional ingredients manufacturer Prinova partnered with SLS Nutraceuticals, a subsidiary of biotechnology company Senescence Life Sciences to bring a line of clinically studied cognitive ingredients to the US market. Under the agreement, Prinova will have exclusive distribution rights for SLS Nutraceuticals’ patent-pending line of ingredient complexes for brain health – NeuroBloom, NeuroScope and NeuroZone.
