Vitafoods Europe 2025: TopGum Industries presents gummy innovations in omega-3 and synbiotics

Doron Delouya, CPO of TopGum Industries, presented the company’s latest innovations at Vitafoods Europe 2025 — OMG3!, a range of omega-3 gummies, and Gummiotics, synbiotic functional gummies. He underscored developing supplements that combine taste and performance. Delouya highlighted the company’s proprietary technologies enabling these innovations, such as TopCap microencapsulation for liquids and its Gummiceuticals prebiotic fiber-based matrix. TopGum Industries combines this matrix with pre- and postbiotics for a 3-in-1 synbiotic solution.

I'm here invited with Europe 2025 with Dawn de Luja, who is the CEO of Top Industries.

Thank you for joining us today.

And I know you've just launched a new gummy, a new gummy line for omega 3s, and I'm really curious.

What inspired the development of this fish-free high dosage format specifically for prenatal and children's health?

OK, so we recognize the demands from our customers like about 2 or 3 years ago for omega 3 gummies, and we recognize that there is no good omega 3 gummies in the market.

And we believe as a company that if the gummi is not tasty, it's not worth to have the ingredient in igami, so we decided that we will not be able to.

Achieve a nice good taste in gummies.

We will not introduce it to our customers, so we had more than 2 years of development until we managed with our unique and proprietary top cup technology to achieve a good test in omega 3 gummies with also a high dosage which we can achieve with per serving the qualified claim in Europe, the claim.

And we found that this is the right time to introduce it to the market.

And I also would love to learn more about your top microencapsulation technology.

How does that enhance the viability and the flavor of omega 3s in these gummies?

You're saying taste is really important.

Yes, you're right, and this is the.

Same story.

So a few years ago we looked for micro-encapsulated ingredients for our gummies, and we found that there is no supplier in the world that is actually creating the micro encapsulation dedicated to gummies, and gummies are different than capsules and tablets.

The process involves higher temperature.

Water lower pH, so we opened our own internal startup in Topgum and created the Topgap technology that actually is micro-encapsulated dedicated for gummies, and we can achieve a lot of different applications and to solve some challenges with gummys creating.

Like the omega 3, so omega 3, as you know, challenging from a flavor perspective, smell perspective, and using the top cup technology allowed us to mask the flavor and really to have good tasting gummies with a substantial dosage of omega 3.

I know that you use algae source omega 3s for this product line.

Can you explain why you chose those?

And how you communicate the environmental benefits of those products.

So again, we are trying to do what we are not a B2C company.

We are selling to our partners.

We are selling to the consumer, and we saw the requirements from our customers asking for something that is more sustainable, something that is allergen free, with a clean label.

And that's why we decided to choose the omega 3 from algae as a solution for these gummies.

And I know also recently you launched Gummiotics, aligned with a sugar-free symbiotic gummy with pre, pro, and postbiotics.

Can you explain what market demand or consumer insight drove that innovation, as you know, The probiotic market, it's a huge market and everyone wants to have probiotic inigamis.

So here actually we leverage our first technology, our first proprietary technology, our claim to fame, which is the prebiotic dietary fiber matrix that we have, which is ideal and optimal matrix for probiotics.

So we use this base.

As the backbone of the gami, we added probiotic and postbiotic, and we have actually here a product which is 3 in 1 pre, pro, and post, which give the optimal solution for this market.

And how do you ensure that those gamebiotics deliver science-based benefits but also have mass market appeal?

So we are working with very reputated suppliers, so we are buying.

The probiotic and the postbiotic with branded probiotic suppliers and then we are testing all our products in analytical tests to ensure that what we are putting in, what we are claiming on the label, that's what we have inside, and this is how we can ensure our customers that they are getting what they are asking for.
