Vitafoods Europe 2025: Finzelberg unveils botanicals for gut health and beauty-from-within benefits

10 Jun 2025 | Finzelberg

Finzelberg’s 360GUT was a finalist in the Vitafoods Innovation Award for Immune and Gut Health Ingredient category. Dr. Cynthia Suarez-Rizzo, project manager of new product development, detailed a pilot study on the polyphenol, which significantly improved gastrointestinal symptoms. Martin Felkner, senior expert on branded ingredients, introduced the company’s newly launched Agilirose Beauty, a branded ingredient for beauty-from-within combining collagen and rosehip extract. Suarez-Rizzo highlighted clinical data supporting its benefits in skin firmness, structure, and elasticity.

This is Yolande von Hall from Nutrition Insights.

I'm here at Vidy Foods Europe 2025 with Milton Felner and Cynthia Suarez Riso from Finzelberg.

Thank you both for joining us today.

And I understand you are a finalist with one of your products, 360 guts, in the category immune and gut health, and I was really curious if you can tell us how this product differentiates itself from other fiber-based prebiotics and what the real time.

Place and its mechanism.

Thank you so much, Yolanda.

We are pretty excited because 360 gut is kind of a new innovative prebiotic.

It's a polyphenol, so it's all, as they say, eat the rainbow.

It's adding variety to the nutrition space that's consumed by the microbes, and Cynthia can talk more in detail about the study details and the mode of action, but I feel like people have known resistance.

Starch goes in for a long time, pretty high dose, pretty solid sizes, and we come with a new and emerging ingredient, just 600 mg, and it works perfectly done with 60 mg only for 4 weeks or 8 weeks and we have good results.

More important for the microbiota also for some kind of symptoms like people feel better.

Afterwards, and also we have new results from the last study from the people who are less stress, for example, and this is very important for their daily life because they have improved the quality of life as.

You are showcasing lots of products here.

Another one I wanted to talk about is Angela Rose beauty, and I'm curious if you can tell us what inspired the development of these ingredients and how does the combination of rosehip extracts and collagen deliver.

Benefits in skin health.

I think it's fair to say you can't escape the beauty from within consumer needs.

So I collagen has been all over the place for quite a while, and interestingly we found that our rose of extract is actually leveraging the benefits of collagen to a further higher level, and we have seen that Cynthia, if I'm not mistaken, with our chili rose joint beneficial for joint health, and you have taken.

To the next level, yes, because Rose joint is for the joints, as the word, and this is the same mechanism of action.

You have an anti-inflammatory effect, but we test it also in the skin and in vitro, but also we have a clinical trial done with and we see what results related with the skin density, with the glow of skin.

For hair and nails it really good results and we are really fascinated with this product because this holistic approach is coming from inside and from outside.

This we grow in the next year I think and I think we are just in time for this product.

Interesting.

Another one is mentalifying, and I'm curious, how does this mechanism involving neurotransmitter modulation compared to non-botanical solutions, and I understand it's mostly supporting teens and children with behavioral challenges, so exciting.

Interestingly, we have encountered a need in the market for natural microchanical solutions that cater to, I would say, challenges with certain behavioral characteristics, especially in schoolchildren, for example.

It's called neurodiversity, and it has to do with.

Much better.

It has to do with neuro trends, with imagination, and we have taken lemon verbena to that level that we can show it works on the reward system, but people were to use it.

I think it's really a good product, this one because the study was done on child between 8 and 17 years old.

It was really good results as , and it was really fascinating to see the child and Teenagers have more focus, more attention, and a little bit calmness, and also the parents in this study they say, Oh, my child is changing a little after 4 weeks.

You can see this improvement, and I think it's a really good product and we are really interested to offer this product here.

And I'm also curious because you work with a lot of natural ingredients, what can you tell us, because there is also increasing attention.

Clean labels, sustainable sourcing.

How is Finzelberg ensuring transparency and quality from cultivation all the way to the final extract?

Yes, we actually, we depend on botanicals.

That's the backbone of the entire business of the Nature Network.

So not only Finzelberg, but also Lar Bauer and Phytonab.

So we grow the botanicals, we sometimes even cultivate them, and then we process them, we operate them, and we make quality shows.

So the idea is really to maintain what we have as the foundational asset for our business, and we have taken a strong stand on the one hand sides sustainable because the entire network will be climate neutral by 2030 and Finselberg already, if I'm not mistaken, by 2025.

So that is on the sustainability side and with that comes also the transparency because the majority of our botanicals are.

Via the Nature Network.

So coming from Martin Bauer, they have their own economists.

They go into the fields, they select the crop that's that's needed, and they really train also the farmers.

So we have full traceability over the supply chain, which is now, I think, more relevant than ever because it has to do with supply chain interruptions, resilience in the supply chain, and of course some consumers also want to know where the botanics are coming from.

I think it's a good thing for the consumer.

How far the products are coming from, where they are coming from, what is the traceability of the product, the pesticides, they are not, and we can tell them that we are really good at these things because we are doing from the seeds to the product, so we can trace the process and we can confirm the food traceability and also the complete sustainability process we are doing until 2025 2023.

Yeah.

OK, thank you both so much.
