Vitafoods Asia 2025: Wooree on liposomal nutraceutical demand and APAC expansion

This is William Bradford Nichols, the editor for Nutrition Insight, and I'm here live at Vita Foods Asia in Bangkok, Thailand, speaking with Jimmy Yoon, the CEO of OD.
Hello Jimmy, how are you today?
Hi, good, doing.
All right, we've got a couple of questions for you about the company.
If it's OK, I'd love to jump right in.
All right, sounds good.
All right, Jimmy, can you tell us what Udi's main focuses are for this year's show?
So that's a difficult question to answer for a very good reason.
Uri as a group is vertically integrated, so our focus isn't our ingredients or OEM manufacturer or our brand.
It's the whole thing.
If I were to kind of simplify that, I wanna make sure that we have really good control of supply chain so that we test everything along the way so we deliver the best quality.
I've made a promise to myself I wouldn't make anything.
I wanna feed my own kids.
Awesome, can you tell us about some of the innovations and products that you're highlighting this year?
Yeah, so, our main highlight right now is actually, efficacy, right?
So high absorption.
That's why we're Korea's 1 liposomal company because we were the first up until 5 years ago, liposomal ingredients were not allowed imported.
Into Korea, and we have to go through a lot of scientific proving to, , to, you know, get past that and make it legal.
So we essentially created the market, and so we try to stay upfront with that.
So using that lipothermal technology we also wanted to make sure and ingredients only is good.
As how it's made as a finished good when people take it, so we have to make sure that Uribio, our OEM subsidiary, also can make sure that liposomal integrity is maintained and stability and technology is sustained.
And then after that, the best way to communicate with the rest of the world is through a brand.
So we created a routine.
Means daily and routine is English, so it's a little bit of Korean American like myself, and we wanted to bring the safety of Korean technology and also bring this product all over the world to make sure that not only are you taking regular vitamin C, which we all need, you liposomalize it, we test it to make sure you get the best absorption.
So that's kind of our.
Our main goal is to make sure that everything we make, we control it and control it to make sure it's safe and actually effective.

Can you tell me a little bit about what we can expect from Woody in the future?
Yeah, we, we want to continue the path of efficacy.
We want to continue the path of making sure that we can give the, you know, starting with our home.
I guess in Korea that you know you can't just take vitamins if it doesn't if your body doesn't absorb it.
So that's our first goal and we want to continue to improve on that and increase the delivery technology but also we're here in Vota Foods Asia because liposomo is actually trending in many places, especially in Southeast Asia, for all the right reasons.
So we believe that we can service them either by.
Selling to other great OEM manufacturers our ingredients, or they have private label brands that are wanting our OEM service but also with lap of solar technology, or people just want to take our high routine product that's marketed in Korea and the US and distribute to their own country, we're wanting to do all of that.
So yeah, that's what you can expect, just maybe a global expansion.
