At SupplySide Global 2025, Gulhan Dimerci of Pharmako Biotechnologies, a partner of Saanroo, explained how the patented LipiSperse technology is used to significantly enhance BioBerb’s bioavailability by making the ingredient easily dispersible in cold water, allowing for lower, more tolerable, and effective doses.

And I am talking today with Ghan De Mercy, the Chief Innovation Officer of Pharmaco Biotechnologies.

I've got some questions already, and if it's OK, I'd love to jump right in.
Absolutely.
Perfect.
You, you've launched two new products, but we're going to talk to you about one specifically today.
Can you tell us a little bit about Bioverb?
How is Biourb different from other sort of Berberine products that are on the market, especially in terms of like absorption and ease of use?
Really good question.
Berberine has been around for a very long time.
However, historically, we never really saw it being utilized, and I feel it's a very.
Utilized material because it's got such great functions when it comes to to mental body health, cholesterol, and overall wellbeing.
The challenge with berberine has always been in relation to its, absorption, but also some of the, the toxic effects when you take high doses because the therapeutic dose of berberine is at that 1.5 to 2 g range and.
When you take the proper therapeutic dose, you would often have very poor absorption and you would also have some side effects which were quite uncomfortable.
What we have done is applied our, our bioavailability technology called Lipispurs to berberine and we've created what's called the biover compound, which is what we are launching here today.
So essentially this powers up the absorption of the ingredients.
It makes it completely water dispersable.
If you've got dispersion and dissolution happening within a a water compound, an aqueous space like what happens in the body, we have a really good chance of absorption.
So what we've just done is undertaken some clinical research to look at the pharmacinetics and the absorption profile when you take the the the biverb compound with the lipisas.
Technology compared to standard ah Burberry, and what we've found is a threefold increase in the absorption and no side effects when you actually take the the material.
This means that we've been able to actually reduce the dose, so we only need to take 300 mg of berberine of of the Bioberg compound with 188 mg of berberine to give you that same.
Efficacy as the original 1.5 g, so that's taken away the high dose requirements and it's also supercharged its absorption profile.
Oh wow, now open it up for all new formats, I would imagine lots of formats, it's reducing in dose and also it allows for the use of the compound, whereas before people wouldn't use it because of the side effects that they would get.
So this has taken that away.

Now, moving on to like almost a different topic because you've explained Bioverb to us pretty , I think.
Can you tell us for, pharmacobiotechnologies and for Sanru in the future, what sort of trends in the health and wellness are driving demands for ingredients like Bioverb right now?
We're seeing lots of growth in the area of longevity and cellular health because that's the key to a good lung health.
It's not just about life span, but it's about health span, so the key areas that we're seeing a lot of interest in are things like women's health, in, in longevity, and in that maintenance of good ah good health and health span as we age, so it's that really core fundamental anti-aging area that we're seeing the, the most interest.
