Collagen peptides and cold soluble gelatins on the rise – PB Gelatins/PB Leiner
16 Jan 2018 | PB Gelatins/PB Leiner
And I'm here at the PB Gelatins PB line at booth joined by Ying Ying Wu.
Ian, could you tell us a little bit about the newer concepts PB gelatins and PB line is, presenting this year?
Yes, so PB line of PB gelatins this year will bring.
So one of our products that we want to focus is.
Innovation.
It is a premium collagen peptide with excellent resolution properties as as it is a very neutral.
Regarding flavor and taste, so it can be easily formulated into any type of recipes.
And another one that we're bringing to FIE this year is our cosolable gelatin products.
We have two product lines, so Guizhao and inkstazhao, and we want to focus a little bit more about inkstazhao, gelatin leaf powder because it is really a very convenient form of gelatin, and it can be directly dissolved in, cold liquid, suitable for what kind of dessert and bakery, even savory application.
And what are some of the market trends you're really jumping into at the moment?
Yes, so we definitely see collagen as a rising star in the protein space.
The market is really driven by being healthy, and healthy and everything protein.
We recently have done a consumer focus group, and consumers really actually still keep protein on top of their mind and they're ready to look for the next generation of protein, which is.
Having the benefit of all the traditional protein like whey protein, but with something else.
So with collagen we believe that this can help consumer to achieve much more different angles of health benefits such as skin health, bone and joint health, even actually its entirety.
OK, so collagen, Jonathan, obviously booming at the moment, but what are some of the challenges you're seeing?
I mentioned that the consumer is increasingly being aware of collagen.
They know that collagen is something that you naturally, your body naturally makes, and with aging you lose.
The benefit of taking collagen is not always clear to them.
So actually, most of the consumers often link collagen with skin, hair, and nails because that's why they are always seen as a promotion.
However, there are much more to it bone and joints, sports nutrition, a good source of protein.
BBs puts a lot of effort into studies and clinical research as.
What are kind of the latest findings you've been?
Yes, so we recently launched a, released the, the, the, clinical studies on POT which we've done this year.
In May, so the study duration is 2 months, and we have volunteers taking 10 g of Sologeling series for 2 months, and then we see a positive result in skin hydration, skin elasticity, as as skin firmness.
OK, so could you speak a bit more about the satiety aspect.
Using collagen, yes, I'm very happy you asked because satiety is not really a usual benefit that people will associate with collagen.
However, we have a very unique clinical studies proving that solo gel collagen peptides actually brings much longer satiety compared to even to whey, soya, or case protein.
So we have volunteers taking.
Breakfast with enriched collagen content and then we have the volunteer wait until we measure how much they eat during lunch and we see really a significant reduction of energy intakes during lunch, up to 20% compared to whey protein.
This is really linked to also 40% of reduction on em, so people really feel much fuller and longer after taking breakfast with solo gel.
So that's very.
Thank you very much.
Thank you.
