Acacia gum’s prebiotic effect “exceeded expectations”

15 Dec 2020 | Alland & Robert

A new study examines the potential benefits after taking a daily dose of acacia gum. Isabelle Jaouen, R&D director at Alland & Robert, details that the study found decreased intestinal complaints in eight out of ten participants. These health and wellness findings may accelerate acacia gum’s use in nutraceuticals, in addition to bolstering its already well-established role in F&B stabilization.

This is Missy Green reporting for Nutrition Insight.

I'm here with Isabelle Join, R&D director for Ala and Robert.

The company recently published study results suggesting a link between acacia gum and a prebiotic effect.

Isabel, thank you for joining me today.

Thank you, Missy.

So tell us, what was the inspiration into linking acacia gum with prebiotics?

Ache gum, you know, is a vegetable and natural polysaccharide known for its versatility regarding efficient functionalities in food formulations combined to nutritional and healthy effects widely described in literature.

The first goal of this study was then to develop new and additional outlooks evidencing -being effects of Aquihigar through vast experiments more based on sensory marketing and consumer insights compared to existing scientific studies.

OK, so you wanted to see really what were the effects and where the fucking surprising.

Yes, really, results have even exceeded all our expectations and confirmed great benefits links to probiotic effects generated by a cache gum.

The study, you know, was conducted by an internationally leading institute specialized in clinical studies for the development of innovative products.

It has been performed on 250 people suffering from intestinal disorders for 2 months.

We organized and explored the impact of an Acacia gum daily dose on symptoms as stomach aches, bloating, flatulence, and transit problems, as as consequences on global satisfaction and daily life.

It was like a feel-good approach.

Regarding the results.

More than 8 people in 10 perceived an improvement of their intestinal comfort.

88% declared to have lower intestinal pain after 60 days.

75% perceived a less swollen belly.

And 78% say the intake of a cashi gum has a beneficial effect on their health.

That was actually as outstanding.

Yeah, yeah.

So now, how are these findings gonna drive the use of acacia gum?

Do you see it in, what sort of product categories do you see it coming up then, now that you have these new findings?

Yes, we hope, hopefully, obviously these outcomes definitely allow us to explore new opportunities of development like nutraceuticals and gut-friendly supplements dedicated to digestive wellness, a booming market indeed.

Promotion of our acacia gum in nutritional and healthy products constitutes a new and exciting challenge for Alain and Robert.

Is Alain or Robert already in the nutraceuticals type of industry?

Yes, more or less, depending on different formulas, but on in nutraceuticals, you can see that ecachegom is already used in order to improve and to to balance the product, yes.

You know that Acacia gum is recognized as, as a fiber because it's a polysaccharide that is not digested in the up track transit of human bodies.

And so, the probiotic effects are already described in literature.

OK, great.

And when can we expect to see some of these products on the market that are promoting acacia gum as a prebiotic?

Yes, so far, as I told you, many food companies already use nutritional qualities of casa gum through fiber enrichment, for instance, and dietary compounds formulated with the casa gum have been growing these last years.

Our last findings based on a large scale study confirmed the assets of Acaciaga, the global market for digestive wellness.

Hope this will be soon materialized by the introduction of our cashagami new products answering to new needs, new trends, and diets based on vegetable, healthy, and natural ingredients.
