TriNutra partners with Dr. Michael Murray to launch ThymoQuin supplement on iHerb
02 Sep 2024 --- Dr. Michael Murray, a scientific adviser at the e-commerce platform iHerb, has launched a new organic supplement with TriNutra’s ThymoQuin in a brand partnership. ThymoQuin is the company’s patent-protected and US Pharmacopoeia-grade black seed oil, clinically validated in over eleven studies for health benefits, purity, bioavailability and stability.
“We have taken great vigilance in studying this ancient botanical to understand its mechanism of action fully, and this partnership is a testament to our commitment to providing the most efficacious black seed oil backed by multiple clinical trials,” says Morris Zelkha, CEO of TriNutra. “We are proud to partner with Dr. Murray and provide ThymoQuin to support overall health and well-being.”
The primary phytochemical compound in black seed oil is thymoquinone, which is unstable in the presence of oxidants, such as free fatty acids, naturally occurring in the plant. When the fatty acid content is too high, this leads to a reduced potency and rancidity of the black seed oil.
ThymoQuin is a cold-pressed black seed oil standardized to 3% thymoquinone with low free fatty acids (<1.25%). TriNutra achieves this composition by strictly controlling the plant’s growing and harvesting processes and employing its proprietary manufacturing processes.
Health benefits
The company states that TriNutra’s black seed oil is recognized for its many health benefits. These include supporting a balanced inflammatory response, improving mitochondrial activity — such as ATP (Adenosine 5-Triphosphate) production — and delivering antioxidant capacity and antimicrobial effects.
The company recently obtained new health claims for ThymoQuin for supporting healthy liver function, cardiovascular health, healthy glucose levels, stress relief and healthy gut microbiota. Moreover, manufacturers using the ingredient in an oral supplement can claim it helps to moderate general feelings of stress.
“Based upon the scientific evidence, including the results from well-designed human clinical trials, I can tell you that black seed oil is severely underappreciated in North America. It should be a top ten dietary supplement given all the health benefits it produces,” adds Dr. Murray.
ThymoQuin has also been studied in ingredient combinations. For example, research indicates that it nearly tripled omega-3s healthy inflammatory activities and that this combination benefits the whole-body energy metabolism and supports immune health.
