Terragenx and Activation Products team up on fast-absorption iodine spray for immunity
23 Mar 2021 --- Terragenx Inc. has partnered with Activation Products to launch Perfect Iodine in the US. The natural iron spray is touted as one of the first products to be manufactured in a “pure and perfect” form that is safe for ingestion.
Terragenx says its production and delivery system delivers iodine nine times more effectively than a capsule form.
“Iodine [also known as iodide] is recognized by the medical community as a world-class disinfectant, but in that current form, it is not safe to consume,” says Dr. Steven Philipps, Terragenx’s chief medical officer.
However, in an aqueous form – like Perfect Iodine – the micronutrient is non-toxic and safe for people of all ages to ingest.

New delivery technology
According to Terragenx, historically, there has been no delivery system technology that has been able to introduce iodine for immediate absorption.
However, the oral spray provides faster absorption. The body will then naturally convert it into iodide supporting thyroid function.
The spray is produced at Activation Products’ manufacturing facility in Ontario, Canada. The health and wellness company specializes in natural and organic offerings. Terragenx is also Canada-based and licenses iodine product lines.
Millions at risk of deficiency
Iodine is a trace element naturally present in soils and seawater, some foods and is added to some types of salt. It is a fundamental building block in supporting connective tissue at a cellular level, cognitive development and function of the immune system.
However, the World Health Organization (WHO) says that iodine deficiency is a serious public health threat for two billion people worldwide. This could leave many people vulnerable to weakened immune systems.
“Most people don’t know how important iodine is to their immune system, let alone the general health benefits,” says Terry Mullins, CEO and founder of Terragenx and iodine scientist.
Attention on immunity
The immune system uses iodine to deactivate viruses in the bloodstream, which may facilitate the production of antibodies.
These benefits may appeal to consumers at a time when the COVID-19 pandemic has pushed immunity into greater focus than ever before. Recognizing this, Innova Market Insights crowned “In Tune with Immune” as one of its Top Ten Trends for 2021.
The market researcher notes that six out of ten global consumers are increasingly looking for food and beverage products that support their immune health, with one in three saying that concerns about immune health increased in 2020 over 2019.
