Stress-free UK: Trip debuts in Boots amid rising consumer interest in CBD products
26 Apr 2022 --- UK-based cannabidiol (CBD) brand Trip is set to hit the shelves at health and beauty retailerBoots, with a launch of two items.
The partnership will see two flavors of Trip’s CBD oils – orange blossom and wild mint – available in two strengths, rolled out across 400 Boots branches across the UK.
“Our mission has always been to share some calm in the everyday chaos, and partnering with Boots is an incredible step toward helping do exactly this,” tells Olivia Ferdi, Trip founder.
The launch comes as the brand is rapidly expanding across the UK, US and a recent debut into the North American market.
According to Trip, the brand landed an exclusive CBD partnership with Soho House, with demand for CBD items driven by consumers seeking solutions for stress relief.
Since 2020, the company states it has seen its growth accelerate by 150 times. The COVID-19 pandemic has played a pivotal role in driving demand for supplements tackling mood and stress as consumers faced lockdowns and increased anxiety.
Regulatory impact
Last month, the UK’s Food Standard Agency (FSA) published a list of CBD products permitted for sale to consumers, making it the first country to impose CBD market regulations.
Consequently, a number of CBD brands had to remove their products from retailer shelves. According to Trip, this highlights the importance of regulatory compliance, which the brand aims to uphold.
Despite the recently imposed regulations, the UK leads the global CBD market, reaching £690 million (US$932 million) in value.
As CBD items grow in popularity, US-based wellness brand Prima recently rolled out a range of CBD chew gummies for on-the-go stress relief. Prima debuts “Chill Out” stress-relieving vegan CBD chew.
