Sleep supplement: Som Sleep granted Non-GMO project status

14 Aug 2018 --- The market for sleep supplements in the booming supplement industry is huge, with Americans spending an estimated US$41 billion on sleep aids in 2015 alone, according to John Shegerian, CEO of Som Sleep. Som Sleep, who offer ready-to-drink supplements Som Sleep Original and Som Sleep Zero Sugar, report that the market is increasingly demanding naturalness and announce that Som Sleep has received official Non-GMO project status.

The Non-GMO Project provides consumers with verified non-GMO choices.

Shegerian further explains to NutritionInsight that he sees the future of sleep supplements shifting into “the natural energy realm as more people incorporate sleep supplements.”

In this way, the demand for quality is increasingly high too. Som Sleep is also Sports certified, meaning it is tested and certified by National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) International under its most stringent program in the dietary supplement space. “We opted to participate in this program to hold Som to the highest standards in terms of both quality and safety,” he explains, “NSF is a trusted source for banned substance testing by the NFL, MLB, NBA, and NHL, as well as collegiate sports teams.”

The importance of Non-GMO status is equally as important for sleep supplements as it is in the wider supplement space, he adds.
