Roquette’s Nutriose soluble fibers are NutraStrong Prebiotic Verified
Key takeaways
- Roquette’s Nutriose fibers earned NutraStrong certification, verifying their manufacturing quality and clinical prebiotic claims.
- Over 50 studies back these fibers for improving gut health, immunity, and blood sugar management with high digestive tolerance.
- The neutral, stable ingredients enable easy fiber fortification in food and drinks without altering taste or texture.

Roquette’s Nutriose clinically backed soluble fibers have received third-party certification from SGS Nutrasource’s NutraStrong Prebiotic Verified program. The distinction recognizes the ingredient’s benchmarks of manufacturing quality, label compliance, and testing protocols.
The NutraStrong Prebiotic Verified industry program validates the efficacy of prebiotic ingredients, safeguarding against misleading claims.
Rigorously evaluated through the process, Roquette’s Nutriose FM 06, Nutriose FB 06, and Nutriose FM 15S soluble fibers were found to meet criteria set by SGS Nutrasource for quality manufacturing and clinically backed claims supporting prebiotic function.
“We are proud to announce that our Nutriose soluble fiber ingredients have achieved NutraStrong Prebiotic Verified certification,” says Iva François, global product marketing leader for Fibers at Roquette. “With a proven prebiotic effect, Nutriose fibers offer our customers a science-backed solution for gut health and overall well-being.”

“This certification illustrates the high standard of our quality and scientific evidence and further underlines our dedication to delivering innovative prebiotic ingredients that our customers and consumers can trust.”
Fiber as an essential nutrient
The Nutriose portfolio addresses the critical fiber gap many consumers face. The WHO recommends a daily intake of at least 25 g of dietary fiber, but research indicates many people don’t reach that goal. As such, experts this year have urged international recognition of fiber as an essential nutrient for reducing chronic disease risk.
Nutriose fibers have shown microbiota-related health benefits, including blood glucose management, satiety, weight management, and sustained energy release.Nutriose is a range of non-GMO corn or wheat soluble fibers with clinically proven health benefits and “excellent” digestive tolerance. Designed for a neutral taste, high solubility, and outstanding process stability, Roquette says the fibers are easily integrated across food and beverage applications, without altering original tastes or textures.
The company holds 25 years of scientific expertise in the fiber field, supported by 26 clinical and over 30 preclinical studies. Research demonstrates that Nutriose boosts beneficial bacteria in the gut while helping modulate the gut environment.
The fibers have also shown microbiota-related health benefits, including blood glucose management, satiety, weight management, and sustained energy release.
More recent studies presented evidence for Nutriose’s support for immunity and mental health.
“We would like to congratulate Roquette on this certification — the company’s commitment to both the quality and science required for prebiotic certification serves as an example to the industry,” says Kevin Yan, VP of Certifications and Analytics at SGS Nutrasource.
“The NutraStrong program is reserved for best-in-class branded ingredients, and we are delighted to welcome Roquette to our ranks.”
Consumers crave fiber-fortified food
Roquette highlights a growing consumer interest in fibers and prebiotics in food and beverages, mainly linked to their known gut health benefits — a trend also known as “fiber-maxxing.” “Consumers see gut health as a gateway to holistic wellness, with 59% of them believing gut health is important for the entire body,” the company details.
“Investment in fiber-focused innovations is expected to significantly grow over the coming years.”
In line with this trend, ingredients that “disappear into formulations” are a consistent area of innovation. US start-up One.bio recently unveiled an odorless, colorless, and water-soluble clinically validated fiber that supports metabolic and immune health in finished products without sacrificing taste, texture, or convenience.
“Roquette’s dedication to unlocking the potential of fibers and understanding their profound impact on gut health exemplifies a commitment to scientific excellence,” comments Caroline Perreau, Nutrition & Health research manager at Roquette.
“Through the pursuit of innovation, we are paving the path to healthier, more sustainable ingredients in the food and beverage industry.”
Nutriose FM 06, Nutriose FB 06, and Nutriose FM 15S are also all certified as low-FODMAP (fermentable, short-chain carbohydrates) and non-GMO Project Verified.
