Plant-based anabolic complex launched to provide healthier steroid option
02 May 2022 --- Nature Gains has released an entirely plant-based steroid combination supplement sourced from testosterone boosters found in plants.
The Natural Anabolic Complex in the NatuRoids product line, aims to give an increased level of overall athletic performance. The ingredients used are ecdysterone, turkerstone, Tongkat ali, epicatechin and Fadogia agrestis. Together these “mimic a chemically developed steroid for enhanced performance results.”
“It is the first time consumers can purchase this combination of plant-based steroid ecdysterone, turkesterone, and testosterone boosters as a dietary supplement. Ecdysterone is an ‘Eastern European secret,’ and the blend of ecdysterone and turkesterone is usually only exclusively available to professional athletes and cannot be found off the shelf,” Mehrdad Haidari, CEO of Nature Gains, tells NutritionInsight.
The targeted consumer group are athletes, seniors who wish to maintain muscle mass, and those who want an edge in the gym. “There has been an upward ticking trend for plant-based and natural ingredients compared to substances as consumers are looking for healthier options,” he adds.
Ecdysterone, one of the main ingredients, is taken from spinach for bigger muscle gains.Testosterone boosting effects
The ingredient mixture was selected to complement one another. The ecdysterone is taken from spinach for more significant gains in muscle building. Spinach is rich in ecdysterone and has been shown to provide performance-enhancing properties in combination with physical exercise.
“Ecdysteroids, which are plant steroids, have been used in Eastern Europe and Asia for some time but have only recently gained a lot of attention in the West after a study in Berlin proved their efficacy,” Haidari says.
Meanwhile, epicatechin helps increase muscle mass. Fadogia agrestis helps with endurance for the consumer to reach peak performance and Tongkat ali is used to increase the level of testosterone production.
The product is mainly formulated for fat loss, muscle mass gains, and to improve endurance while also targeting the anabolic receptors within the body that encourage and stimulate growth.
A strong presence of weak regulations
Nature Gains emphasizes a weakness in terms of regulation for similar products. Many raw ingredients for supplements come from overseas and are not purity tested before making the finished products, Haidari notes. “Not all the international vendors follow strict quality controls that we would want to expect in supplements that we take on a daily basis.”
Therefore the company strives to bridge the demand gap for high-quality ingredients in the US market.
Ecdysterone, one of the main ingredients, showed in a study conducted at the University of Berlin not to have any adverse side effects on the participants. Additionally, “Tongkat ali and Fadogia agrestis have been shown to increase testosterone levels. A few studies have been conducted on them,” Haidari adds.
NutritionInsight previously covered the harmful side effects steroids could bring due to lack of regulation for those suffering from muscle dysmorphia.
