Omniactive to Introduce Highly Bioavailable Turmeric Extract

30 Apr 2014 --- Following the successful US launch of its latest ingredient innovation, OmniActive Health Technologies is set to officially introduce CurcuWIN Turmeric Extract (20% curcuminoids) to the European market at this year’s Vitafoods, taking place in Geneva, Switzerland (6-8 May).

In a well-controlled human clinical trial comparing standard curcumin and several commercial curcumin products with enhanced bioavailability, CurcuWIN significantly increased serum curcuminoid levels 46 times over standard. CurcuWIN provides highly bioavailable curcuminoids in the ratio in which they are naturally found in turmeric.

The study, Comparative Absorption of Curcumin Formulations, which was conducted by the University of Tampa in collaboration with Increnovo LLC and published by Nutrition Journal on January 24, 2014, showed that CurcuWIN not only significantly increased the relative absorption of total curcuminoids 46 times over standard curcumin, but CurcuWIN was also shown to be significantly more bioavailable than other enhanced curcumin formulations based on AUC of total curcuminoids.
