New Brain and Liver Blends from NP Nutra
22 Sep 2016 --- NP Nutra, a leading wholesale supplier of premium grade botanical ingredients for functional foods, beverages and dietary supplements, is set to launch two new specially formulated signature blends and six new products. Both the blends and products will target the growing liver and brain health sector.
The new proprietary blends have been researched and formulated to satisfy the needs of a growing market for potent Ayurvedic herb botanicals that support brain and liver health.
According to Innova Insights data, the use of Ayurvedic herbs in botanical/herbal supplements is growing, with overall use up 6% from 2015 to 2016 YTD.
Commenting on the rise in popularity of liver and brain health supplements, Margaret Gomes, Director of Marketing, told NutritionInsight:“It is a known fact that the world population is aging. In 2013 one in seven Americans or 44.7 million people were 65 years or older. With the aging process comes a natural decline in brain and liver function and a consequent increase in age-related illnesses such as dementia.“
Gomes continued, “In 2012 the World Health Organization estimated that 35.6 million people were suffering from dementia and this figure is set to double by 2030. In response, brain and liver health has increased dramatically over the last few years as people become aware and try to take steps to improve their brain and liver health. Functional foods, beverages and dietary supplements naturally become the focus of their attention.”
The new Nutra Brain Health Blend combines the power of four Ayurvedic brain health ingredients, including mucuna pruriens, vegetarian DHA, bacopa monnieri and Licorice, while the new the Nutra Liver Health Blend combines five liver boosting Ayurvedic extracts, Phyllanthus, Bringaraj, Guduchi, Tephrosia Purpurea and Nirgundi.
In addition, the company will reveal six premium new products: Astragalus P.E. 10:1, Garlic Powder, Ginger Powder, Gotu Kola P.E. 6%, Matcha Green Tea Powder (organic), Prune P.E. 4:1 and Senna Leaf Powder (organic).
Each of the six products will offer different nutritional and flavor benefits. For example, astragalus is well known for its body defense boosting properties, while both garlic and ginger impart a distinctive flavor to many functional foods and beverages. Gotu Kola is considered an adaptogen and brain enhancer, while prune is extremely rich in fiber. Lastly, matcha green tea is an antioxidant powerhouse and Senna is used as a popular laxative and weight management aid.
Thomas Walton, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, said, “It always gives us great pleasure to introduce new and potent products to our customers that will help to promote and maintain good health. Our new premium blends arrive at a perfect time when brain and liver health are in the news.”
As the brain and liver health sector becomes more competitive, Gome thinks that the company’s biggest challenge is the need to continually source the best quality ingredients from suppliers around the world.
“Our customers rely on NP Nutra to research and thoroughly test products to ensure they are the best quality available on the market. As demand for products in certain niche markets increases, as is the case with the liver and brain, so do the requests that we receive from our customers for premium-targeted ingredients to include in their formulations.”
NP Nutra will launch its new range at the SupplySide West Expo in Las Vegas on October 6 and 7, 2016.
