Laboratoire PYC launches immunity and beauty supplements
16 Mar 2022 --- Nutrition supplement manufacturer Laboratoire PYC is expanding its line of products to include two vegan gummy beauty and immune health supplements. The launch targets the growing demand for nutrition support that offers taste and added health benefits.
Laboratoire PYC’s Immunity Gummies contain vitamin C, vitamin D and natural citrus flavor. Meanwhile, the Beauty Gummies contain zinc, biotin and hyaluronic acid to benefit skin and hair. Each jar contains 60 gummies, suitable for one month of use.
According to the France-based company, the North American Market currently holds the largest global market share for health gummies. However, demand in Europe is still expanding, with French gummy sales increasing by 88% at pharmacies over the past year.
While gummies and candy-like vitamin delivery vehicles have been traditionally used for children, there is a growing interest in tasty nutrition alternatives among adults.Gummy supplements have seen greatly increased popularity and NPD as a result of pill fatigue faced by consumers.
Promoting good habits with good flavors
Tasty nutrition supplements have an advantage over traditional supplements as their positive flavor experience aids in the compliance rate of users. In 2019, Innova Market Insights found that 46% of US consumers find taste a priority in seeking healthy, nutritious snacks.
The same year, a Stanford University study found that labels that emphasize flavor and tout better taste are more likely to entice consumers to eat healthier. More recently, taste was spotlighted by key suppliers for its role in clinical nutrition, and a Glanbia exec flagged consumers are increasingly looking for a “health and indulgence balance” in healthy foods.
This indicates consumers find it more appealing to take a tasty, health-packed gummy supplement or beverage every single day than to ingest a supplement that does not taste good and offers no benefit aside from health claims.
Laboratoire PYC offers its supplements in other forms such as food supplements. In November, the company released its clean label collagen powder with vitamin C and stevia to promote beauty-from-within.
This time last year, Laboratoire PYC also released its savory meaty and cheesy protein cakes to aid in weight management.
