GoodBelly launches immunity and gut probiotics that “magically dissolve” in the mouth
11 Jun 2021 --- US-based probiotics company GoodBelly is launching a line of quick-dissolving, clinically proven probiotic powders targeting immunity and digestion.
GoodBelly To Go Fast Melts bring together consumer demand for convenience and health-supporting ingredients in an “easy, fun and on-the-go” format.
Available in two varieties – strawberry-flavored with immunity support and lemon-flavored with digestion support – Fast Melts powder can be directly poured into the mouth.
“Like magic,” the probiotic powder quickly dissolves. They can alternatively be added to water, another beverage or a smoothie.

Proven benefits
The GoodBelly To Go Immunity Fast Melts contain 1 billion live cultures and are made from a blend of the scientifically backed strains Lactobacillus plantarum HEAL9 and Lactobacillus paracasei 8700:2.
These strains together are clinically shown to support immune function, notes the company.
The strain duo, also sold as Probi Defendum, was clinically shown to decrease recurrent common colds in 2018, which was at the time Probi's largest ever clinical trial.
Meanwhile, the new GoodBelly To Go Digestion Fast Melts are made with a probiotic strain called Lactobacillus plantarum 299v (LP299V).
This strain has been evaluated in more than 16 research trials and used for 20 years to help balance the gut and promote healthy digestion, says the company.
The strawberry flavor with immune support is gluten-free.The LP299V strain has featured in past product launches, such as Sanofi’s Cenovis Kids Superbiotics rolled out in South Korea in the convenient, no-water-needed format.
Label claims abound
The melts are shelf-stable, contain no added sugar and formulated with scientifically proven doses of probiotics in each serving.
All Fast Melts are low calorie, dairy-free, contain zero added sugar and dissolve immediately. The strawberry flavor with immune support is also gluten-free.
Fast Melts are positioned for all ages, including children above 4 years of age, and can be easily enjoyed as part of a daily routine.
Immunity still seeing surge of NPD
New products positioned to support immune health continue to roll out as the sector shows no signs of slowing down.
NZMP recently highlighted that while functional foods proliferate, consumers are becoming more demanding for evidence-based ingredients.
Moreover, convenience seems to play into consumer acceptance. Co-founder of the functional drinks company Doki Doki, Alex Go, told NutritionInsight this week that foods offering nutritional benefits in a convenient format are pegged for further growth.
