Azelis bolsters distribution in APAC with Alvinesa Natural Ingredients partnership
06 Mar 2023 --- Specialized food ingredient and nutraceutical innovator Azelis has teamed up with agricultural upcycling and circular economy specialist Alvinesa Natural Ingredients. The partnership will expand Alvinesa’s footprint to Vietnam, India and South Korea, opening a new market for its sustainable plant-based ingredients.
“Partnering with Azelis allows us to expand our reach in the Asia-Pacific (APAC), finding new opportunities for growth when combining our product portfolio with their extensive market knowledge and insights, skilled sales and innovation teams with specialty ingredient expertise, and dedicated lab facilities for formulation development and support,” says Alvinesa Natural Ingredients’ CEO, Jordi Ferre.
Azelis APAC’s CEO & President, Sertaç Sürür adds, “We are thrilled to add Alvinesa’s innovative range of products to our growing nutraceutical lateral value chain, further enhancing the healthy, sustainable and plant-derived formulations and solutions we provide, aligning with our sustainability aspirations.”
Upcycling for the futureAlvinesa Natural Ingredients upcycles grape and olive pomace for use in nutraceuticals and F&B creation.
Alvinesa transforms agricultural coproducts, such as grape and olive pomace into a range of natural products that can be used in F&B products, nutraceuticals, animal nutrition, cosmetics and personal care products.
Its portfolio includes olive and grape polyphenols, natural tartaric acid, natural colorings, natural wine concentrates and grapeseed oil which it markets under its Vintera product line.
The company also recently expanded its grape upcycling capabilities with the acquisition of Cades Penedes, a Catalonian processor of grape-derived sustainable ingredients.
“Alvinesa is building its global health and nutrition ingredient business, and the recent launch of Vintera represents a clear new positioning for our portfolio in the high value, branded and scientifically backed active ingredient space,” Ferre underscores.
Continuing expansion
Azelis has made several distribution partnerships that have expanded the company’s reach and increased its portfolio.
Last month, Azelis partnered with Kerry to streamline the Irish dairy products distribution network throughout Europe. Moreover, the company teamed up with KMC last year to improve KMC’s reach through Asia and to bolster Azelis’ lateral value chain and food and nutrition presence in New Zealand.
Regarding the new partnership, Sürür stresses that the two companies can “develop healthier solutions for the APAC region, as customers can look forward to even more options for natural ingredients that meet leading market and consumer demands for products that boost overall well-being and health.”
