Advanced Protein Technology launches range of instantized collagen with on-the-go potential
The products are also touted as holding improved mixing and tasting properties
09 Aug 2019 --- Advanced Protein Technology, under the Nutra Collagen brand, has launched a new line of instantized collagen products called Collagen+. Instantized collagen creates a product with enhanced tasting and mixing capabilities, the company says. The collagen is combined with ingredients like natural medium-chain triglyceride coconut oil to create a wellness supplement that may help to boost health.
Advanced Protein Technology is a private organization, manufacturing and distributing various branded products in the Health & Wellness industry.
“Instantized collagen is another word for agglomerated collagen. Agglomerated collagen is ordinary collagen peptides that have been put through an agglomerator, which takes the fine peptide particles and binds them with water, gums or starches. This creates a bridge for the water (or any beverage) to flow and penetrate the peptides much easier,” Fuad Hasanovic, Director of Marketing at Advanced Protein Technology and Nutra Collagen, tells NutritionInsight.
“This means that the product is easy to mix with a beverage. We have also found that the agglomeration process removes any sort of lingering taste or smell to the product. Lastly, we also have noticed that combining instantized collagen with other ingredients (for example, in our collagen coffee) improves the overall quality of the finished product,” Hasanovic adds.
Collagen is the primary component for all tissue in the body. Around the age of 25, the body’s natural collagen production begins to slow down, leading to wrinkly skin and joint stiffness. Collagen peptides have been shown to boost the body’s natural production of collagen and support healthy hair, skin, joints and muscles.
The Collagen+ collection takes instantized collagen peptides and combines them with other functional ingredients to create products like instant collagen coffee, collagen keto protein and collagen keto creamer. “Whether you are looking for a natural source of energy for your body (and brain) in the morning, or a product to help support healthy skin, there is something for you,” the company notes.
Hasanovic says the potential applications of the product are endless. “While you can use it for all applications that regular collagen can be used for, I believe it will truly shine in on-the-go and pre-mixed products.”
Mix it up
Traditionally collagen supplements are available in powdered form for added convenience and are easily mixed with water or any beverage consumers prefer. “One of the key complaints we have heard from our customers regarding regular collagen is that it tends to clump and needs to be stirred,” Hasanovic says. “With instantized collagen, the collagen immediately starts mixing with liquid and, most of the time, stirring is minimal or not required at all.”
“Consumers are using on-the-go products for the convenience and usually will be busy doing something else while consuming the product. They do not always have the luxury of mixing the product, waiting for it to settle, or finding something tasty to mask the flavor with. Because of instantized collagen’s ability to immediately mix with liquid, it will make for a much better on-the-go product that is actually convenient to use,” he adds.
Advanced Protein Technology’s emphasis on product purity for its Nutra Collagen brand means that the products are based on natural ingredients and are non-GMO.
“At the end of the day, we want our customers to know that we care about what they put into their body’s just as much as they do,” says Hasanovic. “Our slogan at Nutra Collagen is ‘Build a Healthy Life & Body,’ and this always always starts from within. Our Collagen is simply one part of building a healthy life and body from within. There are many components to this lifestyle that also include: diet, exercise, and meditation.”
