Vitafoods Europe 2025: Epax unlocks new research on long-chain fatty acids

Marine-based ingredient specialist Epax recently unveiled Evolve 05, the first commercially available very long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acid with potential benefits in healthy aging. At Vitafoods Europe 2025, Derek Tobin, the company’s business development and clinical research manager, told us these compounds may benefit brain health, healthy aging, vision, skin health, and male fertility. Following the ingredient launch, Tobin said researchers and product developers can now access sufficient volumes to conduct clinical research.
