A key project for DSM at the moment is its partnership with digital health company Mixfit. This partnership combines DSM's knowledge in essential micronutrients and Mixfit's technologies to provide the ability to analyze health data in real-time to effectively identify nutritional gaps and create customized beverages. “Mixfit is personalized nutrition delivered in real time, based on each individual’s unique health, physiological and biological needs. In that context, it incorporates a very sophisticated platform that, in real time, analyzes and aggregates with your devices, with diagnostics and such,” Reza Zanjani, CEO and President of Mixfit, tells NutritionInsight.
This is Rob at Vita Foods Europe in Geneva and I'm here with Rita who is from MixedFit.
What is MixFit and how are you partnering with DSM here at the show?
Fantastic.
MixFit is personalized nutrition delivery in real time based on each individual's unique health, their Physiological as as biological needs and in that context it actually incorporates a very sophisticated platform that would in real time analyze aggregate with your wearable devices with diagnostics and such.
What more data that we put into it, the more.
Information it has to through MA, which is mixed fit intelligent nutrition Assistant, communicate with the device and dispense exactly the nutritional drink that is required for you.
Can you explain a little bit of how it works?
Absolutely.
So essentially the companion app.
So essentially the companion app, which is Mina is a chatbot that very human-like would interface with you, collect information.
There's a minimal amount of information from surveys.
You can connect your devices.
You can connect, essentially your activity, your sleep.
And in that context, then your profile is on the is on the Mit cloud and when you are actually in the same environment, same Wi Fi with the machine, your profile would be registered.
Then simply from there if you want to make a drink, you would basically say I would like to have a drink.
It will provide you with some informational content, but if you don't want to watch that, that's fine.
Now with each dispensation.
We will also display what are the exact contents that are being dispensed from the various compartments within the machine in order to personalize that for you and if you would like to see how it would work, let's make a drink.
It.
So what would you be producing now exactly in terms of this formulation that's being created right now?
The formulation that's being created right now contains all these elements.
In the quantities that are captured, what are your plans for the commercial rollout of this technology?
We are currently formalizing what our target commercial launch would be.
And what we plan to do is over the course of the remainder of 2018 conducting focus groups, small pilots in order to have consumers engaged in enhancements to the product and then in 2019 commercial launch.
Thank you very much.
