Buhler is looking towards the insect protein area when it comes to alternative proteins and has two plants into operation for insect processing in China and the Netherlands. “We are convinced that insect protein solutions are the future. We need a more sustainable way to feed people in the future with proteins from natural sources. We looked into insect development and we are now building two plants for the production of insect flour,” says Carsten Petry at Buhler.
