Rousselot created Nextida GC to target an increase in GLP-1 secretion to reduce post-meal glucose spikes by an average of 42%, shares Torres. This was seen in a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, crossover clinical study across a healthy population, including normoglycemic people and people with imbalanced glucose metabolism (prediabetic). 

“At 10 g, Nextida GC yielded a statistically significant GLP-1 increase in the overall healthy population when taken 30 minutes before a meal. The prediabetic subgroup also yielded statistically significant results at both 5 and 10 g.”

“In the same study, Nextida GC supplementation at 5 to 10 g saw up to a 43% reduction in glucose spikes,” she adds.

According to Torres, the results, published in Clinical Nutrition ESPEN, show that this specific supplement can support post-meal glucose control, helping avoid sugar crashes and in turn, potentially reducing side effects like cravings, overeating, and fatigue.

“Additionally, pre-meal insulin levels increased significantly following oral supplementation with Nextida GC, while post-meal insulin levels were lower than placebo. This response allows the body to react more efficiently to the glucose introduced by the meal and lower the subsequent spike without the need for excessive insulin production.”
