Vitafoods Asia 2025: Innovations in APAC’s growing nutraceutical, ingredient & supplement spaces
At Vitafoods Asia 2025 in Bangkok, Thailand, exhibitors will spotlight the latest concepts and ingredients that meet the emerging trends and consumer demands in Asia-Pacific (APAC) and beyond. This includes innovations in the healthy aging, active nutrition, beauty-from-within, and gut health spaces.
Ahead of the upcoming expo, Nutrition Insight looks at what FrieslandCampina Ingredients, Kaneka, and PhytoGaia will showcase at this year’s trade show.
“The APAC market is changing rapidly. Consumers are prioritizing daily health, emotional wellness, and beauty-from-within,” says Tjalling Bekker, the regional director APAC at FrieslandCampina Ingredients. “Our goal is to help our customers succeed in this fast-moving and growing market by accelerating application development and enabling closer collaboration so we can navigate these exciting opportunities together.”
At the same time, Kaneka will spotlight its Ubiquinol offering for healthy aging and longevity. The company is the category sponsor for the trade show, and it will feature several sessions with known mitochondrial health educators at its stand throughout the duration of the show.
PhytoGaia will showcase its palm phytonutrient-based tocotrienol solutions, like PetGaia for pet health.“In today’s world, where poor sleep, stress, diet, and inactivity affect much of the global population, mitochondrial health powered by Ubiquinol has become central to preventive care,” says Bobby Mehta, a pharmacist and one of the session’s presenters. “Healthcare professionals are reframing aging not as an inevitable decline, but as a process that can be positively influenced at the cellular level.”
“NPD across vitamins and dietary supplements (VDS) ranges is increasingly focused on sub-cellular health underpinned by mitochondrial function, as healthcare practitioners globally seek improved ways of tackling aging-related conditions to support better health through all life stages.”
Meanwhile, PhytoGaia will highlight its palm phytonutrient innovations for healthy aging, skin, and hair vitality.
“Vitafoods Asia 2025 is an important platform not only to meet our customers but also to better understand their interests and upcoming innovations,” says Dr. Ariati Aris, the company’s scientific affairs specialist. “It provides us with the opportunity to share the latest clinical updates on our branded palm phytonutrients and how these findings can be incorporated into exciting new projects and product developments.”
Maintaining mitochondria
According to Kaneka, its “Kaneka Genki Mitochondrial Power Forum,” which will take place throughout the show at stand #C17, will help educate customers and consumers on the latest “cutting-edge science” and strategies for boosting mitochondrial health, including the benefits of its ubiquinol offering.
The series will also spotlight recent studies revealing new insights into the aging process, such as one showing that cells, rather than dying slowly, instead go off “distinct cliffs” and age quickly rather than slowly. It also found that aging accelerates between the ages of 45 and 55, and will look at how Kaneka’s solutions can aid in mitochondrial health.
“We are seeing a real shift in how aging is understood by healthcare professionals, not as an unavoidable decline, but as a process rooted in the health of our cells that we can positively support through natural compounds like Ubiquinol,” explains Mehta.
“This really drives home that mitochondrial health is no longer a fringe idea. It is rapidly becoming a cornerstone of preventive care, with growing recognition that it may be the key to help expand healthspan and so that we can have a good quality of life across every stage of life.”FrieslandCampina Ingredients will spotlight solutions for gut health and children’s nutrition.
Focus on holistic health
At stand #L29, FrieslandCampina Ingredients will reveal solutions that address the rising demand for ingredients in the gut health, beauty-from-within, and active nutrition sectors. The company will spotlight its flagship dairy protein portfolio, featuring Excellion Caseinates and Nutri Whey Isolates. The company will also explore how customers can leverage these ingredients to meet the needs of APAC consumers.
FrieslandCampina Ingredients will also highlight its Biotis Lactoferrin in the New Ingredient Zone. The company says brands can use the ingredient to meet the region’s growing interest in skin health. The company will also give presentations on the latest ingredient trends in this space and the role of Biotis Lactoferrin.
Furthermore, it will spotlight gut health with its prebiotic portfolio, including Biotis GOS (galactooligosaccharides), Biotis GOS OP High-Purity, and Biotis Fermentis, which the company says customers can utilize in supplements and “next-generation” functional foods. Through its Step Up Nutrition ingredients portfolio, the company says it will highlight growth opportunities in the APAC’s growing children’s nutrition market.
“The APAC nutrition space has various distinct trends — consumers across the region have vastly different priorities and preferences,” says Vicky Davies, the global marketing director for performance, active, and medical nutrition at FrieslandCampina Ingredients. “At Vitafoods Asia 2025, we want to showcase how our prebiotic and protein ingredients, combined with our application and market expertise, can help our partners develop tailored solutions for all stages of life.”
“The event also gives us the chance to connect directly with customers and prospects, exploring new opportunities to turn ideas into successful, effective, and innovative products.”Kaneka Ubiquinol will host several sessions and presentations on ubiquinol’s benefits for healthy aging and mitochondrial health.
Palm-based nutrients for human and pet health
