31/03/09 Val de Vire Bioactives has launched two brand new ingredients dedicated to the food and food supplements industries: apple powder and Pomactiv One. These two ingredients meet the same objective: an easy way to add the health benefits of apple in foodstuffs.

Apple powder is 100% fruit powder, made exclusively from cider apples; no drying binder nor other exogenous compound has been added during the processing in order to preserve all together native compounds of the apple fruit. All the nutritional compounds of apples are preserved. Particularly suitable for food matrix, the apple powder can be easily incorporated in bakery products and filling, dairy products, fruit preparations. Its strong water retention capacity improves the smoothiness and the preservation of the end products.

Formulated specifically for the beverage industry, Pomactiv One is a rich in polyphenols apple extract. Aimed at polyphenols enrichment, it also has limited organoleptic impact on the taste of the finished product. Made from apples, it is particularly suitable for beverages with acid pH. Pomactiv One dissolves immediately in water, facilitating its use in ready-to-dilute sticks.

Val de Vire Bioactives will introduce for the first time these new ingredients at the occasion of the Vitafoods exhibition taking place on 5 - 7 May 2009 in Geneva.
