Univar and TATA Chemicals enter distribution deal to bring prebiotic fiber to Canadian market
28 Nov 2018 --- Univar will be the exclusive distributor for TATA Chemicals’ prebiotic dietary fiber portfolio, Fossence and Gossence, for the Canadian market. The agreement will bring the new, natural, technologically advanced digestive health ingredients for the first time to Canada, according to Univar.
“This collaboration with TATA, in the high-growth areas of digestive health and functional ingredients for the food and nutraceutical industries, will help our customers address the prebiotic megatrend we're seeing in health, wellness and nutrition,” says Adam Iasenzaniro, Univar Canada's Vice President of Focused Industries.
The Nutritional Solutions division of TATA Chemicals Ltd., called TATA NQ, according to the company, offers customers unique nature-backed, science-supported digestive health ingredients with the specific benefits consumers demand.
TATA NQ’s Fossence and Gossence prebiotic dietary fiber portfolio of ingredients can be used in a variety of applications, from dietary supplements to functional foods, such as bakery, dairy and snack foods, to confectioneries and pet food. The production of the Fossence and Gossence lines of ingredients is possible via TATA NQ’s proprietary in-house fermentation technology in a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in India.
