Sweet stress relief: Frangiosa Farms launches CBD honey with hemp, mushrooms and adaptogens

25 Aug 2022 --- US-based Frangiosa Farms is unveiling its hemp honey mushroom complex, harnessing both adaptogens and antioxidants in a bid to boost nutrient absorption. The “all-in-one” daily mushroom complex combines phytocannabinoids (CBD) from hemp, the adaptogens found in beta-glucans and the soluble fibers found in fungi into a single formulation.

“Raw Honey is nature’s most efficient delivery system for the CBD and terpenes extracted from the [hemp] plant. As soon as the honey is eaten, CBD starts getting absorbed as it coats the inside of the mouth and throat, unlike many other formats,” the company’s CEO Nick French, tells NutritionInsight.

Interest in CBD and hemp continues to balloon, addressing consumers who seek natural remedies for stress relief and mental health support.

An industry-backed study earlier this year revealed that orally ingested CBD has a strong safety profile, amid calls for greater regulation across the emergent hemp and cannabis ingredients sector.

Each 12-ounce jar of Colorado Hemp Honey’s Mushroom Complex contains raw wildflower honey, organic mushroom adaptogens, CBD from full-spectrum hemp extract, organic lemon and ginger essential oils.

Adaptogens are non-toxic botanical substances found in plant extracts, which are touted as promoting and restoring normal physiological behavior. Medicinal mushrooms, such as reishi and lion’s mane in Frangiosa Farms Bee Shepherd Honey Brand, increase the body’s resistance to stress and improve cognitive function, its producer says.

Harnessing mushrooms
Each teaspoon serving of Mushroom Complex contains 50 mg combined of turkey tail mushrooms, which engage a balanced immune response and support a beneficial gut ecosystem. It also has chaga mushrooms, which offer antioxidant support against free radical damage.

Reishi mushrooms in the formulation offer a boost for energy, mood, stress response and overall wellness, while maitake mushrooms promote good cellular and immune health.

The formula also includes shitake mushrooms, containing natural compounds like eritadenine, sterols and beta glucans.
