Nestlé has launched a line of nutritional beverage powders for well-aging, branded Nestlé Vital. Targeting the specific nutritional needs of consumers at midlife and older, the products are scientifically formulated to support energy levels, strength, quality sleep, and physical and mental recovery.
The company highlights that demand for products that support physical health and cognitive function from midlife onward is on the rise, with nearly half of the global population projected to be over 40 by 2040.
“Consumers are increasingly seeking solutions that help them not only live longer but also enjoy healthier lives while maintaining their strength and vitality,” says Serena Aboutboul, head of Nestlé’s Nutrition Business.
“In fact, the healthy longevity segment is experiencing particularly robust growth,” she notes.

“With Nestlé Vital, we are responding to this fast-growing trend by combining decades of nutrition expertise with insights from multiple clinical studies to create great-tasting drinks that support people’s daily energy, sleep, and overall vitality needs. Our goal is to make healthy longevity a possibility for everyone.”
Nestlé Vital will debut in Latin America this year and will expand into Europe and Asia in forthcoming launches.
Complementing daily diets
Nestlé Vital was formulated by experts across Nestlé’s global R&D network. The drinks contain high-quality proteins, fiber, and a full spectrum of vitamins, minerals, and patented bioactive blends.
The first range includes eight shake powders in four varieties — strawberry, vanilla, chocolate, and unflavored — for two specific moments of the day: morning and evening.
The Morning Routine is designed to support focus, provide energy, and maintain strength, while the Evening Routine promotes better sleep quality, muscle restoration, and healthy skin. Nestlé details that the drinks are convenient, low in fat, and contain no added sugars.
“Our research looks across all aspects of aging, including how nutrition impacts metabolic health, digestion, mobility, brain health, sleep, and the menopausal transition. Emerging evidence also shows that nutrition can impact the pace of biological aging,” says Dr. Isabelle Bureau-Franz, head of R&D for Nutrition at Nestlé.
“With Nestlé Vital, we have translated this science, and, together with our proprietary protein technology and clinically proven bioactives, we developed simple, great‑tasting, nutrient‑rich products aimed at people from midlife onward who want to start aging smarter.”
Smart aging market advances
The beverage line is the first innovation in Nestlé’s new program under development, “Smart Aging,” which aims to offer expert advice and simple routines for longevity. Nestlé Vital is the program’s first innovation.
In other recent developments around healthy aging, a Nestlé Research-led clinical trial found that NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) booster supplements — typically marketed toward longevity — promote health in “unexpected” areas of gut health, by enhancing beneficial bacteria in the digestive system.
Innova Market Insights data recently highlighted that functional beverages aimed at different age groups will play a greater role in future healthy aging brand innovation. For Boomers, this means creating drinks that support bone and joint health. For Gen Z and Millennials, the market researcher advises brands to focus on beauty and skin health, with claims like improving elasticity, hydration, and overall vitality.
The company also points to an opportunity to include adaptogens and botanicals in familiar formats like teas, smoothies, and juices to support emotional well-being. Furthermore, Innova Market Insights says showcasing authentic, handcrafted products made from real ingredients and sharing engaging stories can strengthen social connections, especially across generations.
