SternVitamin releases micronutrient premixes targeting mental health, cognition and insomnia

08 Mar 2022 --- SternVitamin is unveiling micronutrient premixes that may promote cognitive performance and mental health. According to the company, they reduce the effects of stress while also improving brain function.

“The premix concepts show that micronutrients and mental well-being are closely interlinked,” Dr. Christina Mesch, product manager at SternVitamin, tells NutritionInsight. 

“To give customers a comprehensive picture of the topic of mental well-being, we also provide them with presentations, scientific findings and interactive digital flyers, in addition to our premix concepts.”

Mesch hopes that these premix concepts will inspire customers and help them in their product development process. SternVitaminalso uses these concepts to get into conversations with its customers and generate further projects.

According to the company, micronutrients are significant for healthy brain function. A deficiency in micronutrients affects mental well-being, mood and cognitive performance.

SternVitamin highlights that approximately 35% of people over 50 in Europe, the US and Canada are deficient in one or more micronutrients. 

“We are currently working intensively on the topic of ‘active nutrition.’ Micronutrients also play a vital role here. We expect to release new premix concepts in the summer,” adds Mesch.

Supporting cognitive performance and stress alleviation
SternVitamin uses nootropics to help with cognitive performance. For cognitive performance and mental well-being, the company offers three micronutrient premixes – SternDe-Stress & Relax, SternFocus and PureVITalizer.

“Our premix concepts are intended to show our customers and potential customers that we are familiar with current trends and that the concepts work in different applications,” says Mesch.The micronutrient premixes may improve cognition and sleep quality. 

Relaxation and a strong nervous system are supported by SternDe-Stress & Relax. Its B vitamins, vitamin D, zinc, magnesium, selenium and lemon balm soothe the body, while its ashwagandha promotes stress resistance. The ashwagandha plant also protects the immune system from stress-related alterations.

According to the company, SternDe-Stress & Relax premix can help stressed professionals, students and parents.

With the help of selected micronutrients – L-tyrosine and Bacopa monnieri – SternFocus also improves mental and cognitive performance. B vitamins and the adaptogen Rhodiola rosea help to increase stress resistance and assist the nervous system.

PureVITalizer and SternMind for stress
The PureVITalizer contains blueberry extract, which inhibits the development of reactive oxygen species (ROS) caused by stress. PureVITalizer also promotes mental energy and improves cognitive processes with B vitamins, vitamin C, iodine and green tea extract. The Panax ginseng and natural caffeine it includes relieve stress and mental weariness.

Another premix that targets stress is SternViFtamin’s SternMind.

“With B vitamins and L-theanine, SternMind helps reduce the symptoms of mental stress, tension and soothes nervousness. It also improves clear thinking, mental endurance and concentration in situations of limited performance,” explains Mesch.

“Other functional ingredients that can mitigate stress and improve stress resistance are the adaptogens. These bioactive plant substances help the body adapt to heightened physical and emotional stress situations.”

Targeting insomnia and sleep quality
SternVitamin has created a premix called SternSomnia Quality that reduces waking during the night. It contains magnesium, zinc, L-theanine, ashwagandha and vitamin B1. 

“Sufficient healthy sleep is elementary for overall well-being, so we added two concepts to our new line of premixes for mental well-being. These products focus on sleep onset and duration,” says Mesch.The company highlights that the premixes relieve stress and improve brain function while also reducing the harmful effects of stress. 

 Meanwhile, SternSomnia Duration aims to help people sleep all night. The premix contains magnesium, zinc, calcium and selenium. It also helps the neurological system function and relaxes the body.

The valerian hops and passionflower in the premix shorten the time it takes to fall asleep and also boost sleep length. The lavender in the premix ensures a comfortable night’s sleep.

The company adds that health product providers can use these new concepts to execute unique product ideas and profit from the growing “holistic well-being” trend.

Premixes for children and elderly
SternVitamin previously launched micronutrient premixes – SternDefense Kids and SternDefense Seniors – to cater to the specific needs of children and seniors, respectively.
