SternLife and SternVitamin launch plant-based protein and micronutrient solutions at Vitafoods 2022

10 May 2022 --- SternLife and SternVitamin – subsidiaries of the German-based food ingredients enterprise Stern-Wywiol Gruppe – have launched vegan protein bars, water-soluble powder supplements and micronutrient premixes.

SternVitamin – the producer of micronutrient premixes – launches a line of micronutrient premixes, while the manufacturer of functional foods and food supplements SternLife rolls out vegan protein bars and powder supplements. The new products are showcased at the Vitafoods Europe 2022 event in Geneva, Switzerland.

Boosting immunity and mental health
SternVitamin introduces several individual micronutrient premixes to address the rising segment of consumers seeking to improve their immune health and mental performance.

SternLife’s vegan protein bars promise creamy, crunchy bite and a soft texture.Driven by the rising gut-health awareness, the SternGut premix claims to support the gut-related immune system with a combination of immune-strengthening micronutrients and fiber with prebiotic and immune-modulating properties.

Meanwhile, SternMind, SternDe-stress & relax, SternFocus and PureVITAlizer premixes focus on supporting consumers’ mental performance, relieving stress and supporting overall well-being. The premixes feature functional ingredients claiming to improve mental well-being.

The premix formulation includes L-theanine, which is involved in serotonin synthesis and protects the nervous system. The premixes also contain cognitive-supporting botanicals like ginseng and Rhodiola rosea and natural nootropics – gingko biloba, yerba mate and Bacopa monnieri – that improves brain functions.

Also within the range, the SternDefence premix series is developed to meet the needs of children and seniors. Meanwhile, SternSomnia Quality and SternSomnia Duration premixes target troubled sleepers.

Eyeing vegan markets
With the plant-based diet becoming increasingly popular, SternVitamin has teamed up with its sister company Planteneers to develop individual concepts for dairy alternative drinks to address the micronutrient supplies that tend to be lacking in the vegan diet.

SternLife water-soluble powders are targeted for hair, skin and detox.SternLife is seizing further opportunities of the growing plant-based market by unveiling a line of functional vegan protein bars. The four new vegan bars promise not to leave a “dry mouthfeel,” instead having an indulgent creamy, crunchy bite and soft texture.

SternLife also highlights the high protein content – each bar contains 28% of protein, while sugar accounts for 0.5%. The recipes for the bars can be individually customized. Soy and allergen-free versions and organic options are also available.

Beauty from within
SternLife is also broadening its range of functional food and supplements with three new nutricosmetics concepts – positioned to help companies to break into the growing beauty-from-within market.

The concepts include a Detox Booster for the “inner cleansing process”, a solution for skin health and a third for hair care.

All concepts claim to have proven active ingredient complexes that allow for health claims and are free of preservatives, dyes and alcohol.

The active ingredient composition of each of the products can be individually adapted.
