Stepan Lipid Announce New Anchovy Based Omega 3 Supplement

Marinol D-30 is an anchovy-based omega-3 source that is rich in structured DHA, and has been certified as sustainable by Friend of the Sea. Stepan Lipid has described the product as a cost-effective, sustainable, and high quality marine oil.

The product hopes to tap into the ‘rising awareness of overall well being’ of consumers, and has been created with taste, purity and stability in mind.

Research studies over the past several decades have underscored the significance of omega-3 fatty acids in maintaining heart and eye health and offsetting symptoms of cognitive decline. Infant nutrition and sports nutrition have also been associated with the supplement, and Stepan Lipid believe that increasing investment in clinical research and development will continue to draw consumers to omega-3 ingredients and products.

Supported by the company’s internal taste panel, the Marinol Omega-3 products have been tested to ensure that they meet the sensory properties desired by consumers, including cleaner taste and smell, no fishy aftertaste, being low in saturated fatty acids, and being flavor-friendly with no reflux. 

The company added that because Marinol products are made with a natural, enzyme-based manufacturing process, they are more stable and prevent odors or off-flavors from developing. 

Stepan Lipid has also worked to position the Marinol as sustainable, recognizing that consumers are increasingly interested in overall corporate sustainability, which has lead to a willingness to buy from responsible companies that are doing what they can to cause the least amount of harm when manufacturing their products. 

Marinol will be available in the form of highly concentrated oil and high-stability powder, offering different EPA and DHA ratios to provide health benefits tailored to the needs of specific groups ranging from infants to athletes to the elderly.
