Sirio Pharma debuts organic gummies and softgels with heart healthy oils

07 Aug 2024 --- China-based nutraceutical company Sirio Pharma has launched a new range of ready-to-market, organic gummies and softgels called PureOrganix. The new concepts feature top-trending ingredients such as evening primrose oil, flaxseed oil and apple cider vinegar and meet all the EU-Organic certification criteria.

“We meticulously designed our new organic range so our brand customers could quickly introduce first-in-class products with organic ingredients,” says Sara Lesina, general manager of Sirio Europe and Americas.

Organic tops the charts
According to the company, research shows the demand for organic formulations is growing rapidly. The global herbal extracts market is expected to exceed US$8 billion in 2030, up from US$5 billion in 2020.

Sirio Pharma leverages its PureOrganix range to help brands quickly bring fully tested, optimized formulations to market with these trending ingredient combinations.

The series includes a women’s health gummy and softgel with evening primrose oil for support during pre-menstrual stress and menopause, a metabolic health gummy with apple cider vinegar and a heart health gummy with flaxseed oil that contributes to the maintenance of normal blood cholesterol levels.

The company’s launch products succeed the recent Women’s Health Platform launch featured at Vitafoods Europe 2024 trade show in May. That range includes 20 ready-to-formulate concepts personalized for individual women’s health concerns and spanning all life stages.

CDMO on an organic mission
Sirio Pharma is a global nutraceutical contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) with extensive expertise in gummies, softgels, capsules, tablets, powders, functional beverages and probiotics. The company has manufacturing sites in the US, Germany and China.

In 2023, the company acquired Best Formulations to enhance its manufacturing capabilities and capacity and focus on bolstering its presence in North America.

In the new product range, the organic EPO gummy is pectin-based and delivers 250 mg of EPO in a mixed berry flavor. It also contains 500 mg of EPO, supplemented by an extra 45 mg of gamma linoleic acid.

The organic metabolic health gummy contains 500 mg of apple cider vinegar, an ingredient well known for its metabolic health benefits and weight loss support. Addressing metabolism concerns and weight management has been a significant growth area for nutraceuticals, particularly those with natural actives.

Finally, the PureOrganix flaxseed oil gummy features 120 mg of the oil, which is rich in alpha-linolenic acid, a nutrient that has an approved European Food Safety Authority claim for helping maintain normal blood cholesterol levels. It also supports cardiovascular health.

Earlier this year, Sirio Pharma reported a 43% increase in turnover due to international sales, bringing the company’s revenue to US$508 million. The company’s core dosages are responsible for the record turnover, with softgel sales amounting to about 43% year-on-year, representing an annual growth of 54%.
