Sirio Pharma’s innovative health platform set to tackle North America’s women’s health needs
20 Jun 2024 --- Global nutraceutical contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) Sirio Pharma, launches its recently unveiled women’s health platform in the North American (NA) market. The portfolio, which consists of over two dozen formulations, includes personalized products to meet women-specific health needs and concerns across the lifespan.
Originally launched at this year’s Vitafoods Europe trade show, it includes convenient formats such as gummies and softgels and is aimed at addressing needs from puberty to menopause with a wide range of solutions for gut health, sleep health, urinary tract health, weight management, menstrual care and fertility.
“Sirio is perpetually developing complex formulations using the highest quality ingredients with the strongest evidence base, bioavailability and efficacy,” says Sara Lesina, the general manager of Sirio Europe and the Americas. “We are also continuously bringing in branded ingredient partners on our newest concepts, so that customers and consumers have access to best-in-class nutra products.”
Women-specific solutions
Sirio’s new NA offerings include its MenoBalance gummy for menopause-related issues, an all-in-one postnatal softgel featuring with docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) dubbed Me&Mum, InnoFolate prenatal softgel postpartum concept called Mind Sharpener and skin and energy double-layered gummy called Beauty & Power.
MenoBalance gummies are made with a soy isoflavone from ADM called Novasoy, which has been shown to reduce brain fog, alleviates hot flashes and supports bone density. Me&Mum not only provides much-needed DHA for the growing baby but also includes vitamins, minerals and herbal extracts that may help reduce hormonal hair loss.
Additionally, InnoFolate uses Sirio Pharma’s carrageenan-free Plantegrity technology and features Gnosis by Lesaffre’s highly-bioavailable Quatrefolic folate formulation.
“We want to provide women with more choice, more natural choice and more choice of dosage forms,” Lesina told Nutrition Insight. “That’s also why we have many smaller gummies or soft gels. These can be swallowed more easily, and they’re more pleasurable, helping to remove the medication element of supplements.”
Lifespan support
Moreover, the NA platform’s postpartum concept Mind Sharpener is made with ashwagandha and a blend of mushrooms to combat postpartum brain fog and promote cognition for the postpartum period and beyond.
Sirio Pharma’s Beauty & Power combines iron and collagen to boost energy and promote beauty. Iron reduces tiredness and fatigue and collagen helps support the elasticity and structure of the skin.
According to the company, its women’s health platform meets the evolving and growing women’s health trends and demands — a long-underserved market.
In other news, the company also recently partnered with Cargill to create the Epicor Gummy, which supports immunity and gut health.
