Research Confirms That GanedenBC30 Enhances Protein Utilization and Vitamin Absorption
05 Aug 2016 --- An independent study has demonstrated that consuming GanedenBC30 enhances utilization of vitamins and minerals, including Calcium, Iron, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B5 and Vitamin B12, as well as protecting from muscle damage.
The study conducted by the University of Tampa and Increnovo LLC, found that GanedenBC30 with just 20 grams of protein was able to protect the muscle from damage as shown by perceptual measures and blood work, resulting in improvement in five protein utilization end points: decreased recovery time, decreased soreness, reduced swelling, increased power and decreased blood kinase.
It was also found that GanedenBC30 supports a reduction of muscle soreness and increased perceived recovery.
It is the first study of a probiotic showing ergogenic effects in athletes, with results benefiting the sports nutrition and protein functional food and beverage categories. The study has been peer-reviewed and published in the PeerJ journal.
“We put an extensive amount of focus on the research and science behind our probiotic ingredients and since probiotic benefits are strain specific, we take pride in the impressive results that GanedenBC30 shows consistently in these studies,” said Mike Bush, president of Ganeden and executive board president of the International Probiotics Association. “Our goal is to provide a high-quality and science-backed strain for our customers to formulate with, and we will continue providing research that helps solidify Ganeden as a probiotic leader.”
GanedenBC30 is known as one of the only probiotic strains that can survive in foods and beverages outside of the refrigerated dairy category, due to its unique structure that safeguards the cell’s genetic material from manufacturing processes, shelf-life and digestive transit.
Ganeden works closely with its partners to make sure the 500+ probiotic products on the market worldwide are formulated correctly with the strain, and each launch goes through detailed testing in a lab to confirm survivability, efficacy and end-user benefits.
The study results and previous strain benefits have supported an influx of new probiotic product launches in a variety of categories, including beverages and sports nutrition.
