Relaxation tinctures and free consultations sessions join US CBD offerings
13 Jul 2020 --- The US cannabidiol (CBD) sector has welcomed two new industry-propelling launches. Windward, a new organic hemp CBD and botanical brand, combines the benefits of organic Full-Spectrum Hemp Extract with health-supporting botanical and adaptogens, creating a “greater effect than CBD alone,” the company states. Meanwhile, CBD producer Circle Labs is now offering a free consultation service for consumers to discuss CBD details with an experienced clinician.
“CBD has saturated numerous markets with white-labeled products that make false promises, compromising the health of people and the planet. Windward is changing that paradigm by setting new standards of responsibility and providing athletes and adventurers with what they need and deserve – pure, effective, all-natural products that are ethically sourced and produced,” says Jennifer Sullivan McBride, Co-Founder of Windward.
According to a new market report from LeafReport and Canalysis Laboratories, the CBD sector is making progress in terms of cannabis legislative regulation, revealing that the quality and accuracy of labeling for CBD products have notably improved.
Windward sources its US Department of Agriculture (USDA)-certified organic hemp from a family-owned farm in Colorado. The company partners with farms and foragers worldwide that utilize organic and environmentally sustainable practices to source their botanical ingredients. Using organic cane alcohol, Windward says its non-toxic extraction method yields the highest amount of safe, pure and potent plant actives available. The company does not use toxic solvents such as butane, propane or hexane, which are commonly used in the industry.
Windward has now released a family of four hemp CBD products:
Windward Daily Performance: Tincture promotes energy and stamina, mental focus and physical recovery.
Windward Evening Recovery: Tincture supports physical recovery, restful sleep and relaxation.
Windward Mind Body Balance: Tincture improves mental clarity, stress relief and relaxation.
Windward Muscle Remedy: Salve aids with physical recovery, joint health and relaxation.
According to Innova Market Insights data, there are five times more food and beverage launches tracked with “CBD” in the ingredient list comparing 2018 launches and 2019 launches globally, albeit from a small base. In the US specifically, an Innova Consumer Survey from 2019 found that 57 percent of consumers consider pain relief as a main benefit of cannabis/CBD consumption, followed by reducing stress/anxiety (46 percent) and relaxation (29 percent).
Fifteen minutes of consumer consultation
To provide more education and help cannabis-curious consumers begin their CBD journeys, Circle Labs is now offering a free 15-minute consultation with a medical professional with extensive experience working with CBD and cannabidiolic acid (CBDa).
“As many of our customers have questions about the science behind cannabinoids, product quality, ailments and dosage, we partnered with experienced clinicians to help address this need,” says Ron Mahabir, Co-Founder of Circle Labs.
Innova Market Insights data further details that 25 percent and 29 percent of US consumers are either “very familiar” or “familiar” with cannabis and CBD, respectively. However, another 7 percent reported they had never heard of it.
The clinician team is led by Registered Nutritionist Eloise Theisen, President of the American Cannabis Nurses Association, who has seen over 6,000 patients in her private practice. The first consultation with a clinician is complimentary. Should additional follow up be necessary, another paid option is available through Radicle Health.
The CBD sector is advancing its efforts to increase not only consumer education but also regulation across the globe. Nutritional software supplier ESHA Research will assist manufacturers selling cannabis edibles in Oregon, US, with regulatory-compliant product labeling and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and CBD tracking. Moreover, the sector has been filled with renewed calls for national safety framework regulation.
