Regulatory Approval in Brazil for Rimfrost AS
22 Sep 2016 --- RIMFROST AS, a Norwegian vertically integrated krill company offering krill oil and krill powder to the world's food supplement markets, has been granted regulatory approval in Brazil.
The approval marks a milestone for the company, which has been working towards entering the South American market.
“We are happy to have received the regulatory approval for RIMFROST krill oil in Brazil and we strongly believe that we are perfectly positioned in this market as our oil is 100% natural and contains a high concentration of astaxanthin,” explained Ole Arne Eiksund Executive Vice President RIMFROST AS.
“There is a huge interest from Brazil for Krill Oil, mainly because of RIMFROST Krill Oil’s high levels of Astaxanthin and Omega-3 Phospholipids,” Arne continued.
Explaining the company's progress in Brazil so far, Arne told NutritionInsight: “It only took a short time from the regulatory approval until we sent our first drums to a Brazilian customer. It will provide the Brazilian market with a very high-quality Krill Oil product, with high levels of Astaxanthin and Omega-3 Phospholipids. We have started the work to gain regulatory approval for the RIMFROST Ultra High Krill Oil as well. Thereby we can offer the Brazilian market a portfolio of high-quality Krill products.”
The health and wellness market remains strong in Brazil, and consumers are increasingly looking for natural products with a high degree of added value, something that Rimfrost are sure they can provide.
“It is well known that UV light induces oxidative damage to the skin and eyes and this is a concern in southern countries like Brazil. We will continue to develop and publish documentation regarding the antioxidant properties of RIMFROST krill in order to support our customers and grow the krill oil market in Brazil.” Says Dr. Inge Bruheim, Chief Scientific Officer, RIMFROST AS.
The company also has its sights set on further global expansion. “In addition to the launch of our Krill oil in Latin America, we are also expanding our business in the Asia-Pacific territories,” explained Arne.
“Additionally, RIMFROST Krill Powder will receive its regulatory approval soon and is ready to be launched both in Brazil and China. China is a very interesting market for the RIMFROST Krill Powder.”
