Protein Hydrolysate Incorporated in New Sports Beverage

30/07/08 DSM Food Specialties has announced that its protein hydrolysate, PeptoPro, has now been selected as the key ingredient in SIXGRAM, the breakthrough ready-to-drink sports beverage from DIS BV. Available throughout the Netherlands from August 2008, SIXGRAM contains 6g PeptoPro per 330ml can and can be purchased in blood orange, grapefruit and mandarin flavours.
PeptoPro is a patented casein hydrolysate. It consists of a unique mixture of di- and tripeptides which become immediately available to the muscles after ingestion resulting in faster recovery and muscle protection. It can be purchased as both an instant (powder) drink and RTD beverages. PeptoPro is used by numerous Olympic, football and rugby teams, as well as by elite sportsmen and women across many sporting disciplines.
PeptoPro was initially developed for the Dutch Olympic team to help speed up recovery times and improve athletic performance. Since its launch, the evidence supporting PeptoPro’s benefits has grown significantly. Recent trial results, for example, have indicated that consumption of 6g of protein during exercise has a positive impact on endurance and can limit muscle damage.
